Women's Tennis Returns to Action Wednesday

CINCINNATI – Xavier women's tennis returns to action this weekend on Wednesday, March 4th as they take on the Shockers of Wichita State. The match is set to begin at 12:30 p.m. at Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Club and can be watched at GoXavier.com/WTENLiveStreams.

THE OPPONENT: WICHITA STATE |
- Last season, Wichita State finished with a 14-10 overall record. They finished 3-4 on the road and went 5-2 in natural site matches.
- This will be the first meeting between the Musketeers and Shockers.
- The Shockers are 4-10 so far this season and have an 0-5 overall record in matches played on the road.
- In their last matchup, Wichita State fell to Nebraska, 1-6.

- Xavier women's tennis fell to Marquette, 4-3, last Saturday afternoon and fell to DePaul, 4-3, on Sunday evening.
- In doubles, Xavier took the point after Ahmeir Kyle and Kaitlin Ruether defended the No. 1 spot, 7-6, while Rachael Reichenbach and Anna Roggenburk took the No. 2 spot, 6-2. Natalie Moyer and Anna Letto fell in the No. 3 spot, 6-1.
- In singles, Kyle fell in the No. 1 spot, 6-2, 6-2. Roggenburk fell 6-2, 6-3 in the No. 2 singles spot, but Reichenbach got Xavier back on track with a 6-7, 6-4, 10-7 victory in the No. 3 spot. Kaitlin Ruether gave the Musketeers a 3-2 lead after winning the No. 4 spot, 6-4, 5-7, 10-2, but Marquette secured the match victory after grabbing wins in the No. 5 and No. 6 spot over Moyer and Letto.
- DePaul took the doubles point after grabbing a 6-1 victory in the No. 1 spot over Kyle and Ruether, followed by a 6-2 win in the No. 3 spot over Moyer and Letto. Reichenbach and Roggenburk led in the No. 2 spot when the doubles point was decided.
- In singles, DePaul took a 2-0 lead after defeating Reichenbach in the No. 3 spot, 6-2, 6-4. Kyle answered back with a 7-5, 6-4 win in the No. 1 spot, but Roggenburk fell in the No. 2 spot, 7-6, 7-6. DePaul secured the win with a 6-4, 6-4 win in the No. 6 spot over Letto. Xavier finished strong, however, with a 7-5, 7-5 win from Moyer in the No. 5 spot and a 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 in the No. 4 spot for Ruether.
