Ahmeir Kyle Records Historic Win in Loss to Old Dominion

CINCINNATI - Xavier women's tennis fell to Old Dominion, 6-1, on Saturday afternoon on the road. Xavier's only point came from the efforts of Ahmeir Kyle in the No. 1 singles spot as she defeated No. 38 ranked Holly Hutchinson, 6-3, 6-3. The win gave Kyle the highest ranked singles victory in program history.

THE MATCH

In doubles, Old Dominion took the point after defeating Natalie Moyer and Lauren Fitz-Randolph, 6-2, in the No. 3 spot, followed by a victory in the No. 2 spot over Rachael Reichenbach and Anna Roggenburk. Kaitlin Ruether and Kyle trailed, 5-4, in the No. 1 spot when the point was decided.

In singles, Kyle gave the Musketeers their only point of the match with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over No. 38 Holly Hutchinson. Old Dominion defeated Roggenburk, 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 2 spot, followed by Ruether, 6-4, 6-2 in the No. 3 spot. In the No. 4 spot, Ruether fell, 6-2, 7-5. Old Dominion finsished the match with two more victories over Fitz-Randolph in the No. 5 spot and Anna Letto in the No. 6 spot.
