Men's Soccer Mourns Loss of Former Standout Derrick Otim

The Nottingham, England, native passed away over the weekend
CINCINNATI - Former men's soccer standout Derrick Otim tragically died over the weekend in a swimming accident. The Nottingham, England, native was 24 years old.
Better known to all of us as Del, Derrick exemplified the spirit and hard work of a Xavier student-athlete. Not only did Del excel on the field of play, but his perseverance through off-the-field challenges demonstrated his character. The entire Xavier family grieves for Del and his family.
Otim played in 70 matches during his four-year career with the Musketeers, totaling seven goals and nine assists. The midfielder was named to the All-BIG EAST Third Team in 2019.
