Baseball Announces Fall Signing Class

CINCINNATI - Xavier baseball head coach Billy O'Conner announced a 12-person signing class for the 2020 fall signing period. The newest Musketeers will join the program in the fall of 2021 for the spring 2022 season.

Aedan Anderson is an outfielder who joins Xavier from Laguna Niguel, California, where he attends Dana Hills High School.
Anderson is a three year member of the varsity squad at Dana Hills, coached by Tom Faris, accumulating 69 hits and 43 runs while batting .375/.437/.522 for his career. As a junior, he led the team in hits runs and stolen bases. With his club team, BPA, Anderson is a three-time Perfect Game All-Tournament Team honoree and was part of a squad that was ranked as high as No. 15 nationally and No.1 in the West region in 2020.
Anderson plans to major in Sports Management/Business at Xavier. He is the son of Eric and Tara Anderson and has two siblings, Owen and Delia.

Teddy Deters is an infielder/outfielder from Orono, Minnesota, where he currently attends Orono High School.
At Orono, Deters is a four-year starter for the varsity squad coached by Bucky Mieras, where he pitches in addition to playing shortstop and center field. As a sophomore, Deters was an All-Conference honoree and was named Defensive MVP. He was also a member of the Orono High varsity football team, starting at quarterback as a junior and senior. In club action, as part of the Minnesota Starters 16u and 17u National Team, Deters was a Perfect Game Preseason All-American.
Deters plans to major in Business at Xavier. He is the son of Jeff and Kelly Deters and has three siblings, Hannah, Haley and Tommy.

George Eisenhardt is a right-handed pitcher, originally from Cincinnati who is currently attending Lakeridge High School in Portland, Oregon.
At Lakeridge, Eisenhardt is a four-year member of coach Ray Pearson's varsity squad, playing outfield in addition to pitching. Eisenhardt has twice been named All-League for the Three Rivers League, and also earned All-State and Pitcher of the Year as a sophomore. Eisenhardt also has experience playing club for Gunderson Baseball Academy.
Eisenhardt plans to major in Sport Managment at Xavier. He is the son of Jamey and Shannon Eisenhardt and has two siblings, Frances and Henry.

Carter Hendrickson is a center fielder and pitcher from Farmington, Minnesota joining Xavier from Farmington High School.
At Farmington, Hendrickson is a three-year member of the varsity squad coached by Jon Graff. He averaged .275 at the plate, collecting 11 hits and 11 runs in 14 games played as a sophomore. He is also a decorated member of the varsity football and hockey teams at Farmington.
Hendrickson played club with Minnesota Mash Baseball, most recently earning an 0.00 ERA in 17 innings pitched, striking out 27 in the process. At the plate, he collected a .318 average with 21 hits. Individually he earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team at the Midwest Premier Baseball Fall Classic, and was part of squads tha won the 18U Fall Lumberjack Open in 2020, the Pastime Tournament Championship in 2019 and the Fall Club League Championship in 2018.
Hendrickson is the son of Melissa and Jeremy Hendrickson and has two siblings, Makenna and Braelyn.

Ethan Hodge is a shortstop from Louisville, Kentucky, where he attends Trinity High School.
At Trinity, Hodge has been a member of Rick Arnold's varsity program since 2018, playing shortstop for a squad that went 35-6 and made the 2019 State Final Four, after winning the 27th District and 7th Region Championships to earn a spot in the state tournament. Hodge is also a four-year member of the Trinity basketball program, and was part of the 2019 state championship team.
Hodge also has club experience playing for Indiana Elite, Lousiville Legends and Razorbacks Baseball Club. During his club experience, he's earned MVP and won team championships at both the Bullpen Tournament and Pastime Tournament.
Hodge plans to major in Business Finance at Xavier. He is the son of Lisa and Jeff Hodge. Jeff played football at Western Kentucky before eventually transferring to Louisville. Hodge has on sister, Ava.

Luke Hoskins is a right-handed pitcher from Arvada, Colorado, where he attends Ralston Valley High School.
At Ralston Valley, Hoskins is a three-year member of Brad Madden's varsity team, pitching and playing first base. He was part of the league championship team in 2018 before injury and cancellations shortened his 2019 and 2020 seasons. Hoskins also has experience playing club baseball for the Rough Riders as well as the Colorado Rockies scout team.
Hoskins plans to major in Business at Xavier. He is the son of David Hoskins and Stacy Hoskins and has two older sisters, Andie and Lucy.

Justin Loer is a left-handed pitcher from Lakeville, Minnesota where he currently attends Lakeville South High School.
At Lakeville South, Loer is a member of Bill John's varsity squad, as well as a member of the varsity soccer and football teams. As a sophomore, Loer earned South Suburban League All-Conference Honorable Mention. Loer also has club experience playing for Northstar Baseball Club, as well as the Midland Redskins. Most recently with Northstar, Loer earned a 1.60 ERA through 25 innings pitched. He collected 44 strikeouts, including 19 in his last game pitched. As part of the club, he's won six championships over the last five years, including two last fall.
Loer is the son of Jennifer and Chris Loer. He has one younger sibling, Allie.

David (DJ) Morand is a right-handed pitcher from Wilmette, Illinois where he currently attends Loyola Academy.
At Loyola, Morand is a three-year member of Chris Ackels varsity team. He was part of a 12-win season as a sophomore, the team's last complete season. Morand also has experience playing for the Top Tier Americans club program most recently, in addition to playing club with the Homestead Ranchers in recent years, pitching and playing first base.
Morand is the son of Bob and Doreen Morand. He has an older brother, Bobby, who plays baseball for Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa.

Ryan Rumsey is right-handed pitcher from Cherry Hill, New Jersey, where he currently attends Paul VI High School.Â
Rumsey is a four-year member of Gary Sarno's varsity team at Cherry Hill, playing right field and third base in addition to pitching. In his two complete seasons, Rumsey is averaging over .316 at the plate, and has collected 45 hits, including a pair of home runs, and 17 RBIs. On the mound, he is 6-0 in starts and has collected 33 strikeouts. In the team's last complete season in 2019, Rumsey was Third Team All-State and Second Team All-Conference, as well as team MVP. Rumsey also has experience playing Club with the Diamond Jacks Super.
Rumsey is planning to major in Business at Xavier. He is the son of Maria and Jim Rumsey and has an older brother, Matthew.

Emmanuel Scott is a catcher from Chicago, where he currently plays for Saint Ignatius College Prep.
At Saint Ignatius, Scott is a three-year member of coach Sean Mason's varsity program, playing both catcher and outfield. In his two complete seasons, Scott has been a part of nearly 30 wins, including an IHSA State Runners-Up finish in 2018. He earned All-Academic honors from the Chicago Catholic League. Scott has club experience playing with Lou Collier Stars, Lou Collier A's and the Evoshield Canes (Midwest). As an individual, he's earned multiple game MVPs from USSSA. With the Midwest Canes, Scott was part of a 33-win team that were the champions of Bullpen Octoberfest, PBR Fall Championship and the Battle for the Midwest.
Scott plans on majoring in Business Analytics at Xavier. He is the son of Curtrice and Patrick Scott. His mother, a graduate of both Spelman College and the University of Michigan Law School, swam competitively in college. He has one sibling, Curtis.

Hyatt Utzman is a right-handed pitcher and infielder from Pullman, Washington, where he attends Pullman High School.
Utzman has been a member of coach Kevin Agnew's varsity program since he was a freshman. In his first season, Utzman earned All-Greater Spokane League First Team honors as a middle infielder, and repeated as a First Team selection, this time as a pitcher, during his sophomore season, the team's last complete season. Utzman was part of over 30 wins and a pair of league championships in his two complete seasons. Utzman most recently has club experience playing for the Sweets Baseball Club last summer, playing second base in addition to being in the starting rotation for a team that went 15-2-1.
Utzman plans to major in Biology at Xavier. He is the son of Michele and Howard Utzman. His father was a member of the Washington State football team. He has three siblings, Payton, Haylie and Brenna.

Jake Zicka is a left-handed pitcher from Loveland, Ohio, where he attends Loveland High School.
Zicka is a two-year member of Ty Neal's varsity team a Loveland, and has also played 10 years of club baseball with the Cincinnati Stix, Midwest Prospects and Midland Baseball. During his last club season in fall 2020, Zicka collected 34 strike outs in 24 innings, allowing only eight runs to score, and was a member of the PBR Fall Tournament Championship squad. Zicka has earned both Preseason All-American and All-Tournament Pitcher honors from Perfect Game during his career.
Zicka plans to major in marketing at Xavier. He is the son of Lisa and Patrick Zicka. His father played college baseball at Cincinnati.
