Play kicks off on Wednesday for Musketeers
CINCINNATI - Xavier women's tennis is back in action this week at the ITA Division-I Women's Ohio Valley Regional Championship, running from Oct. 20 to Oct. 25 at Middle Tennessee State in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
Natalie Moyer will get play underway for the Musketeers on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. ET in the singles qualifying draw. Imani Graham, Ahmeir Kyle, Kat Lyman, Blessing Nwaozuzu, Anna Roggenburk and Anna Smith will all be competing from Xavier as well.

Natalie Moyer will face Jada Young of UT Chattanooga in the singles qualifying rounds, set to be played on Wednesday.
In singles play in the main draw, starting Thursday, Anna Smith will face off with Tara Milic of Purdue in the opening round, Kat Lyman will face Belmont's Abi Solomon in the first round and Anna Roggenburk will play Nishitha Saravanan from Miami (Ohio) to start play. Imani Graham will face Andrea DiPalma of Louisville, and Ahmeir Kyle will take on Emily Meyer of Memphis in the first round as well. Blessing Nwaozuzu will also compete, with her opponent to be determined.
In doubles action, Anna Smith and Blessing Nwaozuzu will pair up, taking on Yufei Long and Anessa Lee from Vanderbilt in the opening round.
Anna Roggenburk and Imani Graham will partner up in doubles play as well, opening action against Danielle Morris and Denise Torrealba of Austin Peay.
Ahmeir Kyle and Kat Lyman will open doubles play against Tenika McGiffin and Olivia Symons of Tennessee.

- The Musketeers were last in action at the UC/Xavier Invite on Oct. 9 and 10.
- In singles play at the Invite, Xavier picked up eight wins, going 8-1 through the two days. Blessing Nwaozuzu went 3-0, with a win over Koo of NKU, 6-1, 7-6 (8), and Hu of Indiana, 6-1, 6-7 (5), 10-7, on day one and Ushio of Miami (Ohio), 6-2, 6-0.
- Anna Smith also went 3-0 over the weekend, topping Valentinsson of Miami (Ohio), 6-4, 6-1, and Ali of Ohio State, 6-4, 6-0, on day one, and Zalukar of Miami (Ohio), 6-3, 6-2, on day two.
- Natalie Moyer picked up two wins over the weekend, over Devillez of Bellarmine, 6-0, 6-2, on day one, and Long of Miami (Ohio), 6-4, 6-2, on day two.
- Xavier picked up another win in doubles play, with Nwaozuzu and Smith combined to beat Hu/Kubas (Indiana), 6-4, on day one. The pair fell 6-2 to Ali/Schoenly of Ohio State. Nwaozuzu also combined with Moyer in a match against Hu/Kubas from Indiana, falling 6-4.

 FALL ACTION |
- Ahmeir Kyle opened up her fall season with a victory on Monday, Oct. 4, picking up a win in the round of 64 in the Open Singles qualifying bracket of the ITA Women's All-American Championship at the LTP Tennis Club in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.
- In Kyle's first fall tournament action, she faced off against Madeline Lamoreaux of the University of Utah on Monday morning, advancing out of the round of 64 with a three-set win. Kyle took the opening set, 6-4, before Lamoreaux responded with a 6-4 win in set two. Kyle took the deciding set, 6-3, to earn a spot in the round of 32.
- In the round of 32, Kyle faced Sabina Machalova of the University of Mississippi, who had topped Evgeniya Levashova of Central Florida, 7-6 (2), 6-1, on Monday morning. Machalova took the second round win over Kyle, 6-3, 6-2, on Monday afternoon.
- The rest of the Musketeers opened the Fall tournament schedule at the Xavier Invitational, collecting 13 singles wins and 10 doubles wins against Dayton, Memphis and Cincinnati. The Musketeers also finishes the blind dual with the double MVP award for the pair of Emily Thomas and Kat Lyman.
- Xavier went 13-9 in singles play, with Emily Thomas picking up singles wins in all three matches, an Natalie Moyer, Blessing Nwaozuzu, Anna Roggenburk and Anna Smith all finishing with multiple wins as well.
- In doubles action, Xavier went 10-2, with Kat Lyman and Emily Thomas going 3-0 in the No. 2 spot to earn the tournament's doubles MVP. Imani Graham and Anna Roggenburk finished 2-1 in the No. 1 spot and Bella Kirby and Natalie Moyer also paired up to go 2-1 on the weekend.
- Against Dayton, Xavier went 5-2 in singles action and 4-0 in doubles. The Musketeers picked up a 5-3 record against Cincinnati for the tournament, going 3-1 in doubles play. Against Memphis, the Tigers held a 4-3 advantage on singles matches, but Xavier went 3-1Â in doubles play

 THE MUSKETEERS |
- Xavier returned seven letterwinners from last season's BIG EAST Championship squad, including Ahmeir Kyle and Anna Roggenburk, who were were unanimous selections to the All-BIG EAST First Team.Â
- Roggenburk also earned the nod as Freshman of the Year for the conference while Kyle became the first Musketeer to qualify for the NCAA DI Singles Championship.
- The Musketeers also return all-conference honoree Kat Lyman, who earned a spot on the All-BIG EAST Second Team.
- Xavier added a pair of newcomers as well in graduate transfer Anna Smith, joining the Musketeers from Marshall, as well as freshman Bella Kirby.
