Franxman and O'Reilly record double-doubles in loss

CINCINNATI, OH- Xavier played RV Marquette closely throughout, but it was the Golden Eagles who came away with the four-set victory by a score of 20-25, 25-15, 18-25, 21-25. The match was the beginning of Senior Weekend, which culminates tomorrow against DePaul.

Xavier is now 11-15 this season, and Marquette is 22-4.

NOTABLES

• Delaney Hogan had a very strong showing, scoring a team-high 14 kills at a .591 hit percentage. She also had five of Xavier's seven blocks (three solo). In total, she had 18 points.

• Kelly Franxman, who will be among the seniors being celebrated tomorrow, tied her season-high with 13 kills and a .310 hit percentage. She also had 12 digs to mark her fourth double-double of the season.

• Carrigan O'Reilly recorded her third-straight double-double, and fourth in the last five matches. Her stat line consisted of 24 assists, 13 digs and six kills at a .263 hit percentage.

• Other kill leaders were MaryAnn O'Toole (6), Moriah Hopkins (6) and Emma Grace (5).

• Libero Stevie Wolf led Xavier with 18 digs.
