Harris, Satterfield Lead Musketeers to 62-47 Road Win at Wright State

DAYTON, Ohio - Kae Satterfield posted her third career double-double on Wednesday afternoon, leading the Musketeers to a 62-47 road win at Wright State.
Satterfield finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds as the Musketeers improved to 2-3 on the season. Wright State dropped to 0-5 on the year.
Xavier has won two straight games and has limited its opponents to under 50 points in both contests. The last time Xavier held back-to-back opponents to 50 or fewer points was from Nov. 21-29, 2018 (W, 62-50 at Wake Forest; W, 65-49 vs Bowling Green).
• The opening quarter had two ties and two lead changes with neither team leading by more than four points. Xavier led by four points twice, including a 14-10 advantage with 2:03 left in the frame. Neither team scored in the closing minutes as the Musketeers carried their lead into the second quarter.
• Xavier started the second quarter on an 8-2 run capped by an Aanaya Harris fastbreak layup, forcing a Wright State timeout and giving the Musketeers their first double-figure lead (22-12) of the game. The Raiders outscored Xavier, 5-3, to close the half - making the score 25-17.
• The 17 points allowed are the fewest points allowed by Xavier in the first half of a game since Nov. 17, 2018. Xavier limited Fairfield to 14 points in a 48-38 win at Cintas Center.
• Both teams shot under 32 percent from the floor in the first half. Xavier held a 16-8 advantage in points in the paint and scored five more second-chance points (7-2).
• Aanaya Harris led Xavier with nine points on 4-for-9 shooting at the break. Kae Satterfield added nine rebounds, seven points and three assists. Xavier also held a 28-18 advantage on the glass.
• Both teams shook off the cold shooting to open the second half, combining to go 8-for-9 from the floor. Wright State opened the third quarter by outscoring Xavier, 9-8, to force a Musketeer timeout at the 6:58 mark (33-26).
• The Musketeers regained their double-figure lead with 3:21 left in the third quarter on a Shaila Beeler three-point play. Wright State closed within six points (42-36) with 56 seconds on the clock before the Musketeers ended the frame on a 5-0 run, capped by an Aanaya Harris layup as time expired.
• Xavier led 47-36 after three quarters of action behind a .714 field-goal percentage (10-for-14) in the third stanza.
• Xavier never relinquished the lead, outscoring the Raiders, 15-11, in the final quarter. Wright State closed within nine points (56-45) with 3:55 left in regulation before the Musketeers closed the game on a 6-2 run to seal the victory.
• Kae Satterfield posted her third career double-double, scoring 15 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. She added three assists and one steal. The guard now has 11 career games with 10 or more points and three games with 10 or more rebounds.
• Freshman Aanaya Harris added a season-high 15 points on 7-for-14 shooting. She chipped in three rebounds and two assists. The Omaha, Neb., native now has a team-high .489 field-goal percentage (23-for-47) on the year.
• Three other Musketeers scored seven points: Ayanna Townsend, Shaila Beeler and Mackayla Scarlett.
• Xavier won the battle on the glass for the second time in as many games, pulling down 10 more rebounds (44-34) than the Raiders. Mackayla Scarlett matched her career high in rebounds for the second straight game with seven rebounds.
• Xavier forced 18 turnover, converting the miscues into 20 points. The Musketeers also scored 12 more fastbreak points (14-2) than the Raiders.
• Xavier continues its road swing at Eastern Kentucky on Saturday, Nov. 27. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m. ET from Alumni Coliseum.
