Women's Tennis Moves to 3-0 with Win over NKU

Musketeers travel to face Virginia Tech on Sunday
CINCINNATIÂ - Xavier women's tennis moved to 3-0 on the season after sweeping taking a 5-2 win over Northern Kentucky at Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Club. Xavier swept the doubles to pick up the first point and took the first four decisions in singles to secure the win.Â
The Musketeers are back in action later this weekend, traveling to Virginia Tech on Sunday, February 14. The match is set for noon.

Xavier secured the doubles point with wins in all three matches. Ahmeir Kyle and Emily Thomas took the 6-0 win in the No. 1 spot, and a 6-2 win for Kaitlin Ruether and Imani Graham in the No. 3 spot secured the point for the Musketeers. Anna Roggenburk and Kat Lyman also won, 6-4, in the No. 2 spot.
Anna Roggenburk picked up the second point for the Musketeers, winning No. 1 singles after taking set one, 6-0, before the match was retired. Roggenburk is now 3-0 in singles action for the season.
Imani Graham made it 3-0 in favor of the Musketeers with a 6-1, 6-1 win in the No. 3 spot. Graham remains undefeated in duals at Xavier, moving to 3-0 in singles play and 6-0 overall in her rookie season.
Kat Lyman sealed the win, putting Xavier ahead 4-0, with a 6-1, 6-4 win in the No. 2 spot. Lyman moved to 3-0 in singles play.
Kaitlin Ruether picked up the final point for the Musketeers, winning the No. 4 spot 6-0, 6-3. Ruether is 2-1 in singles play, and 5-1 including doubles action so far this season.
NKU took the final two points, winning No. 6 singles over Natalie Moyer, 8-4, 7-6 (3), and No. 5 singles over Lucy Octave, 6-3, 4-6, 10-7.
