 QUOTING COACH FLEMING |
"As tough as Friday-Sunday games can be, I thought after Friday's result we needed to get back on the field right away and play a game. Having said that, our entire staff and program did a great job responding to Saint Louis with our team meeting, training session and video work on Saturday.
"We were able to get on the board early get a second goal and create some separation shortly after. Doing so can be difficult at times. Above all, we were able to rest several key guys, manage minutes and get some young guys some extended game experience.
"It was great to see several of our goals and assists come from freshmen in the first extended action of their careers. We have an entire week to get ready for Creighton and BIG EAST action. We'll get back to work on Tuesday and our true response from the Saint Louis match won't fully be determined until after the Creighton game on Saturday.
