Musketeers Fall in Second Game of Doublehead at Evansville

Series finale set for tomorrow at 2 PM ET

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Xavier baseball drops game two of the Saturday doubleheader, 1-0, to move to 6-11 on the season.

Xavier out-hit the Purple Aces, 6-2 overall, but Evansville got a run across in the third inning after UE's Troy Beilsmith reached on an error and scored on wild pitch. Xavier was unable to tie up the game, falling 1-0 in the second of two games on the day.

Xavier trails Evansville 2-1 in the series, which wraps up with game four on Sunday, starting at 2:00 p.m. ET.

XU AT THE PLATE

Ryan Altenberger went 2-3 with a walk, hitting in the four spot. Altenberger extends his hit streak to a team-best three games.
Natale Monastra went 2-4 at the plate.
Matthew DePrey went 1-3 with a walk.
Andrew Sexton finished 1-2 at the plate.
Tyler DeMartino reached safely for a third-straight game after getting hit by a pitch.

XU ON THE MOUND

Lane Flamm went 6.0 innings, allowing just one run on a hit and four walks. Flamm had a career-high matching eight strikeouts.
Michael Dillon entered for the seventh inning, going scoreless 2.0 innings, a career-long outing, with just one hit allowed. Dillon struck out four, a career high.
