Jensen, Wheeler Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK - Cole Jensen and Cameron Wheeler were named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday afternoon. The two players helped Xavier remain unbeaten with a 1-0 win over UConn on Saturday, Oct. 1.

Jensen made one save vs the Huskies and recorded his conference-leading sixth shutout of the season. The Council Bluffs, Iowa, native ranks tied for second in the NCAA in shutouts (6) and tied for seventh in goals against average (0.50).

Wheeler scored his second goal of the season vs UConn, finding the back of the net in the 60th minute for the lone goal of the match for either team. It was the first game-winning goal of his career.

Jensen has now been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll four times this year, while Wheeler earns the honors for the first time (was also named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 19).

Xavier travels to St. John's on Wednesday, Oct. 5. First touch is set for 7 p.m. from Belson Stadium.
