Volleyball Falls to No. 16 Marquette in Four-Set Match

The Musketeers hung tough and opened the match with a set victory
MILWAUKEE, Wis. - Xavier volleyball fell to No. 16 Marquette (25-22, 12-25, 22-25, 20-25) for the second time in the 2022 regular season.
The Musketeers fall to 18-9 (11-6 BIG EAST) while the Golden Eagles improve to 25-2 (16-1 BIG EAST).
• Delaney Hogan, the junior middle blocker, led the squad in both hitting percentage (.500) with 14 kills and one error on 26 attempts.
• Angel Robinson, the graduate middle blocker hit for .385 in the match with six kills, one error, and 13 total attempts.
• Brooklyn Cink posted the match-high in kills and attempts with 16 kills and 48 attempts. The senior outside hitter also managed nine digs in the four-set match.
• The two middle blockers, Hogan and Robinson were the only members of the squad to put up block solos. Both also managed a block assists - each paired up with Cink who posted two total block assists.
• Carrigan O'Reilly added an additional 42 assists to bring her career total to 3,162. The senior setter also posted her 29th career double-double with the 42 assists and 11 digs in the match.
• Five members of the squad put up service aces against the Golden Eagles. Sophomore libero Lucia Corsaro led with three while O'Reilly, Cink, senior defensive specialist Alyssa Overbeck, and junior defensive specialist Stevie Wolf each posted one.
• Corsaro led the Musketeers with 17 digs with O'Reilly tallying 11.
• Wolf posted a kill in the second set to bring her season total to eight.
• Xavier will travel to DePaul for the final 2022 regular season game on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET
