ST. LOUIS - Xavier men's soccer player Cole Jensen was drafted by Inter Miami CF in MLS SuperDraft 2023 presented by adidas on Wednesday night. He was taken in the first round as the 18th overall pick.
The Council Bluffs, Iowa, native was the first goalkeeper taken in the MLS SuperDraft 2023 presented by adidas. He also becomes the second-highest draft pick in program history.
The United Soccer Coaches All-American becomes the sixth Musketeer drafted in program history and the first since Cory Brown in 2018. He is the first Xavier goalkeeper taken in the MLS Draft.
Xavier had two players taken in the same draft for the first time in program history (Makel Rasheed was taken as the seventh pick in the third round).
The 2022 BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year helped the Musketeers match the program's highest United Soccer Coaches Ranking this season (No. 9 on Oct. 18).
