Souley Boum Is The Latest Musketeer To Earn BIG EAST Honors

Boum is the third XU player named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll.

CINCINNATI --- Xavier University graduate student Souley Boum has earned a spot on the BIG EAST Conference Honor Roll after averaging a team-high 19.0 points in Xavier wins over Southeastern La. and West Virginia this past week. Boum added 3.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game. In addition, he passed the 2,000-point mark for his collegiate career in the WVU game on Dec. 3.

Boum is the third Musketeer to earn a spot on the weekly BIG EAST Honor Roll this season, joining junior Colby Jones (Nov. 28) and senior Zach Freemantle (Nov. 14 and Nov. 21).

Boum has averaged a team-high 16.6 ppg., which ranks tied for sixth in the BIG EAST Conference. Boum, who has scored in double figures in eight of XU's nine games, including seven straight, is second on the team and 11th in the BIG EAST in assists (4.0 apg.). He is fifth in the BIG EAST in free-throw percentage at .870 (47-54).
