Xavier Posts Five-Point Win over Le Moyne, Moves to 2-0 on the Year

The Musketeers made 13 three-pointers on Thursday night at Cintas Center
CINCINNATIÂ - Malik Messina-Moore led three Musketeers in double figures with 17 points on Thursday night, leading Xavier to a 74-69 win over Le Moyne.
The Musketeers improve to 2-0 on the year, while the Dolphins fall to 1-1.
The Musketeers conclude their three-game homestand vs Santa Clara on Monday, Nov. 10. Tip-off is slated for 8:30 p.m. from Cintas Center with the game being aired on FS1.

NOTABLES
- Le Moyne led by five points (22-17) with 10:51 left in the first half. Xavier responded by going on a 24-10 on 8-for-13 shooting, taking a nine-point lead (41-32) with 2:07 on the clock. The Dolphins closed the half on a 4-2 run, closing within seven points (43-36).
- Malik Messina-Moore led all scorers with 14 points in the first half. The Musketeers hit 64.7 percent of their three pointers (11-for-17) in the first stanza and went 15-for-29 overall from the floor.
- Le Moyne hit 61.5 percent (16-for-26) of its shot attempts in the first half. Tennessee Rainwater paced the Dolphins with 11 points.
- Xavier never relinquished its lead and led by 10 points four times in the second half. The Musketeers led for 29:33 in the contest.
- The Dolphins closed within three points (67-64) with 2:34 left in regulation, but the Musketeers outscored Le Moyne, 7-5, to close the game. Xavier wnet 1-for-1 form the floor and 5-for-7 from the charity stripe in the final two-and-half minutes of action.
- Xavier went 13-for-25 from behind the arc, the most made three pointers in a game since Nov. 12, 2024 (16 made three pointers vs Jackson State; W, 94-57).
- The Musketeers also posted a .424 field-goal percentage (25-for-59) and went 11-for-16 from the foul line.
- Malik Messina-Moore scored a team-high 17 points on 6-for-15 shooting with four 3-pointers. He added five assists, one steal and one block.
- Roddie Anderson III finished with 15 points, three rebounds, two steals and two assists.
- Tre Carroll added 11 points, five rebounds and four assists.
- Filip Borovićanin recorded six points and a game-high 12 rebounds (also a career high). The forward added four assists and three steals.
- Le Moyne won the battle on the glass, 33-31, and held a 34-22 advantage in points in the paint.
- Xavier scored 10 more points off of turnovers (20-10) than the Dolphins and had 15 more bench points (30-15). Both teams scored 12 fastbreak points.
- Le Moyne finished with a .529 field-goal percentage (27-for-51). Trent Mosquera scored a game-high 20 points on 7-for-14 shooting.
