GAME NOTES VS. LE MOYNE

The contest is the second of a three-game homestand to open the season.

CINCINNATI --- The Xavier University Musketeers, 1-0, host the Le Moyne College Dolphins, 1-0, on Thursday night at 7 p.m. at Cintas Center. This marks first meeting between the two programs.
Xavier placed four players in double figures in scoring in their Monday win over Marist.

X FACTORS

• Xavier opened the Richard Pitino era with a 66-62 win over Marist on Monday. Senior Malik Messina-Moore led four XU double-figure scorers with 16 points, while sophomore Jovan Milićević scored 10 of his 14 points in the second half and sophomore All Wright scored 11 of his 14 points in the second half.
• Xavier has now won 36 straight regular season openers (35 at home, including the last 27). XU has won all 26 season openers at Cintas Center.
• Xavier returns no scholarship letterwinners for the first time in school history. XU made the 2025 NCAA Tournament.
• Xavier's Richard Pitino made his successful debut as the Musketeer head coach. Pitino, who was the head coach at New Mexico for the past four seasons, led the Lobos to a 27-8 overall record and the second round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament with a first-round win over Marquette. Pitino has 13 previous seasons of experience as a head coach, including eight years at Minnesota.
• Xavier has two players on its roster that are very familiar with head coach Richard Pitino. Senior Filip Borovićanin and sophomore Jovan Milićević played under Pitino last season. A couple other players have at least two games of experience playing against Pitino's New Mexico squads: sophomore Pape N'Diaye (transfer from UNLV) and senior Roddie Anderson III (transfer from Boise State).
• Xavier's men's basketball team has compiled a 339-64 (.841) record for its first 25+ seasons in its on-campus home, the 10,224-seat Cintas Center.
• Xavier has welcomed 3,925,539 men's basketball fans to Cintas Center and is set to pass the four million mark sometime this season.
• Xavier played its first men's basketball game at Cintas Center on Nov. 18, 2000, a 68-54 win by late head coach Skip Prosser's squad vs. Miami (Ohio). XU celebrates the 25-year anniversary of that game on Nov. 18 vs. Old Dominion.
