CHICAGO - Xavier men's tennis fell 6-1 to DePaul on Saturday evening, finishing the regular season at 11-8.

Xavier now travels to Cayce, S.C for the BIG EAST Championship, starting on Friday, April 22.

THE MATCH

In doubles action, DePaul took the first decision, taking a 6-2 win over Brett Winters and Shashank Reddy on the No. 2 court. Xavier responded with a 6-2 win on the No. 1 court for Diego Nava and Ryan Cahill, but DePaul clinched the point with a 6-3 win on the No. 3 court against Charlie Temming and Marco Pennelli.

DePaul made it a 2-0 lead with a 6-3, 6-4 win on the No. 5 court against Marco Pennelli, and pushed it to a 3-0 lead with a win over Caden Kammerer on the No. 6 court, 6-4, 6-3.

The Blue Demons clinched the match with a 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 win on the No. 4 court against Charlie Temming. DePaul picked up two more points, a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 win over Brett Winters on the No. 2 court and a 6-3, 6-7 (9), 6-4 win against Diego Nava on court No. 1.

Ryan Cahill picked up the final decision, a 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 win on No. 3 to set the score at 6-1.
