Men's Tennis to Host Butler fo Senior Day

Musketeers face Bulldogs at 1:30 p.m. on Friday
CINCINNATI - Â Xavier men's tennis will host its final home match of the season, facing the Butler Bulldogs on Friday, April 8 at 1:30 p.m.Â
Following the match with Butler, the Musketeers (10-6), will close out the regular season with a pair of BIG EAST road matches at Marquette and DePaul on April 15-16.

- Butler enters the match at 10-9 overall and 2-1 against BIG EAST teams. The Bulldogs have won six of their last seven.
- The Bulldogs went 8-8 overall last season with a 2-1 record in BIG EAST play.
- Butler topped Creighton, 4-1, in the BIG EAST Quarterfinals before falling to DePaul, 5-0, in the semis.
- Xavier fell 7-0 to the Bulldogs in Indianapolis last season.

-  Xavier fell 6-1 to Belmont on Friday evening to move to move to 10-6 on the season.
- In doubles action, Belmont picked up wins on all three courts, taking the No. 1 court against Ryan Cahill and Diego Nava, 6-4, and picking up 6-3 wins on the No. 2 court against Cambell Nakayama and Brett Winters, and on the No. 3 court against Shashank Reddy and Charlie Temming.
- Diego Nava took a three-set win on the No. 1 singles court, 4-6, 7-6 (3), 10-4 to pick up the point for the Musketeers, his 11th single win of the season.
- Belmont took two set wins on the remaining five courts. The Bruins picked up a 6-2, 6-3 win on the No. 2 court against Brett Winters. Ryan Cahill fell 6-1, 6-4 on the No. 3 court against. On No. 4, Charlie Temming fell 6-4, 7-5. Marco Pennelli fell 6-3, 6-2 on the No. 5 court and Caden Kammerer fell 6-1, 6-1 on No. 6.

- The Musketeers returned eight letter-winners from last season, including Brett Winters, who competed primarily in Xavier's No. 1 singles spot, as well as regular singles players Cambell Nakayama, Shashank Reddy and Aaron Thompson. Dominic Macaluso, Pascal Mosberger and Jake Zipoli also return for Xavier.
- Xavier added five newcomers, including a three-person freshman class, Ryan Cahill, Marco Pennelli and Charlie Temming.
- The Musketeers newcomers also included a pair of transfers, Nick Loudermilk from College of Charleston and Diego Nava from Loyola Marymount.
