Women's Tennis Hosts Butler on Sunday for Senior Day

Musketeers will face Bulldogs at 3 PM if outdoor, 5 PM if indoor.
CINCINNATI - Xavier women's tennis will close out the home portion of the schedule on Sunday, April 10, hosting the Butler Bulldogs for Senior Day. The match is set to start at 3:00 p.m. at the Jim and Mary Brockhoff Tennis facility, and will shift to a 5:00 p.m. start if moved indoors to Eastern Hills Indoor.
Following the match with Butler, the Musketeers (9-8) will close out the regular season with a road trip to a pair of BIG EAST opponents, facing Marquette and DePaul on April 15-16.

- Butler is 7-12 on the season and 0-1 in BIG EAST play. The Bulldogs are coming off a 6-1 win over IUPUIÂ and have won three of the last four.
- The Bulldogs went 6-10 overall and 1-2 in BIG EAST play last season.
- Butler took a 4-0 win over Seton Hall in the first round of the BIG EAST Championship before falling 4-0 to DePaul in the quarterfinals.
- Xavier took the win, 4-3, in last season's match-up with the Bulldogs, winning the No. 1, No. 2, No. 4 and No. 5 singles spots.

- Xavier fell to the No. 52 Charlotte 49ers, 5-2, on Sunday afternoon.
- In doubles action, the 49ers took the point with a 6-1 win in the No. 1 spot against Ahmeir Kyle and Emily Thomas, and a 6-2 win over Kat Lyman and Anna Smith in the No. 3 spot. Imani Graham and Anna Roggenburk led 5-2 in the No. 2 spot when the point was decided.
- The first singles decision came on the No. 1 court, a 6-1, 6-2 win against Ahmeir Kyle to make it a 2-0 Charlotte lead. The lead extended to 3-0 with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Blessing Nwaozuzu on the No. 6 court and Charlotte clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-2 win on the No. 5 court against Anna Smith.
- Anna Roggenburk picked up a 6-3, 6-2 win on the No. 4 court, and Imani Graham made it a 4-2 match with a 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-5) win on the No. 2 court.
- The final decision came on the No. 3 court, a 4-6, 6-0, 7-5 loss for Kat Lyman to set the score at 5-2 in favor of the 49ers.

- Xavier returned seven letterwinners from last season's BIG EAST Championship squad, including Ahmeir Kyle and Anna Roggenburk, who were were unanimous selections to the All-BIG EAST First Team.Â
- Roggenburk also earned the nod as Freshman of the Year for the conference while Kyle became the first Musketeer to qualify for the NCAA DI Singles Championship.
- The Musketeers also return all-conference honoree Kat Lyman, who earned a spot on the All-BIG EAST Second Team.
- Xavier added a pair of newcomers as well in graduate transfer Anna Smith, joining the Musketeers from Marshall, as well as freshman Bella Kirby.
- The Musketeers also added a mid-year transfer in graduate student Anne-Sophie Courteau. She comes to Xavier from West Virginia, where she collected over 75 combined wins in four seasons, including 44 singles wins and 34 doubles wins.
