Musketeers take on players from Indiana and Minnesota in addition to host Spartans
CINCINNATI - Xavier women's tennis travels north for to take part in the Michigan State Spartan Invite, set to run from Friday, Oct. 31 through Sunday, Nov. 2 at the MSU Indoor Tennis Center in East Lansing, Mich. The Musketeers will take on players from Indiana, Minnesota and Michigan State.

***NOTE: MSU will be hosting the Big Ten Conference Cross Country Championships on Friday, Oct. 31 at Forest Akers East Golf Course, that is near the MSU Indoor Tennis Center, so tennis fans should be aware of increased traffic and possible partial road/lane closures, and should allot for plenty of time for adjusted travel time and routes.***

UPCOMING SCHEDULE
- Abby Nugent and Clara Owen, the No. 40 ranked doubles team in the ITA Preseason Rankings, will take part in the ITA Conference Masters Championships played in San Diego, running from Nov. 6-9. Nugent will also take part in the singles bracket.
THE MUSKETEERS
- Xavier returns eight players from last season's BIG EAST Championship winning squad, including senior Abby Nugent, a 2025 All-BIG EAST First Team selection, and 2025 BIG EAST Freshman of the Year and All-BIG EAST Second Team selection Madeleine Rexroat.
- Sophomore Clara Owen, who partnered with Nugent as one of the top doubles team in the country, returns, as well as seniors Abigail Siminski and Emily Flowers, juniors Ellie Brotherton and Sofia Mazzucato, and sophomore Natalie Smitek.
- The Musketeers added freshman Ella DeFord, a five-star recruit from Mount Pleasant, S.C., to the roster.
- Xavier finished the 2025 dual season at 14-9 and won the program's fifth-straight and sixth overall BIG EAST Championship, earning the program's sixth bid to the NCAA Championships.
