
Baseball Takes Game One at No. 13 UConn

Musketeers and Huskies return for game two on Saturday at 1 PM
STORRS, Conn. - The Musketeers opened up the series with the top-15 ranked UConn Huskies with a wire-to-wire win, topping UConn 7-2 after taking the lead in the second inning and never relinquishing it.
Xavier went ahead 2-0 in the second with a two-run home run from Andrew Walker, bringing in Garrett Schultz, who reached on an error, for the 2-0 lead.
Luke Franzoni hit a solo shot in the fourth to make it a 3-0 lead, but the Huskies got the run back in the bottom of the inning.
Xavier drove in another run in the sixth on an RBI single from Schultz, driving in Jack Housinger, and then added three more in the eighth tot take a 7-1 lead into the ninth inning. The Huskies added on in the final half frame but the Musketeers held off the No. 13 ranked squad to open up the series with the 7-2 win
