Andrew Martin, Jack Parker Earn CSCAA Scholar All-American Honors

Both Musketeer squads also named Scholar All-America Team by CSCAA
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Following an outstanding season in the pool and the classroom, a pair of Musketeers, Andrew Martin and Jack Parker, earned Scholar All-American Second Team honors from College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).
To qualify for First-Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes earned a minimum GPA of 3.5 and participated in their national championship. Second-Team selections also earned a 3.50 GPA or higher and achieved a "B" time standard for the national championship or participated at a diving zone qualification meet.
Andrew Martin, a junior Marketing major, earned All-BIG EAST in six events overall and three as an individual at the 2022 championship, setting three NCAA B-Cut and school record times on the way to winning two events as an individual.
Martin, originally from Middleton, Wis., repeated as the BIG EAST Champion in the 200 free, setting a new school record and an NCAA B-Cut time, finishing in 1:35.80 at the 2022 meet. In the 500 free at BIG EAST, Martin broke his own school record and set an NCAA B-Cut time of 4:21.89 in the finals of the 500 free to repeat as champion. Martin also set an NCAA B-Cut and school record time in the mile with a time of 15:19.15, taking third.
Jack Parker, a sophomore Biology major, earned All-BIG EAST in three individual events at the 2022 conference meet, wrapping up the meet with three new school records.
Parker, originally from Spartanburg, S.C., set an NCAA B-Cut time and set a school record in the 400 IM, finishing in 3:50.59 to take silver at the 2022 BIG EAST Championships. He also broke a 10-year old record set by Michael Zennedjian in 2012, finishing in 1:47.85 to tie for second place, and finished third in the 200 fly after setting a new school-record time of 1:48.06 in prelims.
In addition to Martin and Parker's honors, both of Xavier's teams were honored for strong work in the classroom, earning CSCAA Scholar All-America Teams awards, earned by teams posting a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Xavier's women posted a team GPA of 3.54 to earn the team honor for the 25th straight semester, also earned the honor during the 2005-06 academic year.
Xavier's men finished with a 3.57 team GPA, and have now earned the honor in 23 of the last 25 semesters,
Th was one of 103 Division I schools to have both the men and women earn the honor.
