Xavier Swimming Announces 2022-23 Schedule

CINCINNATI - Xavier men's and women's swimming is set to get the 2022-23 season underway in late September, kicking off competition at the Butler Double Dual on September 25th. The Musketeers will take part in four multi-team meets, five dual meets, and will host an alumni meet and senior celebration in preparation for the 2023 BIG EAST Swimming and Diving Championships set for next February.

- This year's Butler Double Dual will include Saint Louis, Bellarmine, IUPUI and Eastern Illinois, in addition to the Musketeers and host Bulldogs.
- Last season the women finished in second with a 3-1 head-to-head record, picking up wins over Saint Louis, Butler and Valpo but falling narrowly to IUPUI.
- Xavier's women took the event win in the 200 medley relay, the 200 free, and the 400 free relay.
- Xavier's men also finished second in 2021, going 2-1 head-to-head with wins over Saint Louis and Valpo, but falling to IUPUI.
- The Musketeer men collected wins in the 200 free, the 400 IM, the 500 free and the 400 free relay.
at Louisville

Ralph Wright Natatorium - Louisville, Ky.
- Last season the Louisville men took second at the ACC Championships, then moved on to place 12th at the NCAA Championships.
- The Cardinal women placed third at the conference meet, following that with a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Championships.
- The Musketeers last faced the Cardinals in October 2021, with the women falling 179-78 and the men falling 179-78.
at Akron Zips Classic

- Last season, the two-day meet included Akron and Denison in addition to the Zips and the Musketeers.
- At last season's meet, Xavier collected a pair of third-place finishes with 535.5 points on the women's side and 805 on the men's side.
Alumni Meet

Heidt Family Champions Center - Cincinnati, Ohio
- The Musketeers will host a meet for the current squad to compete against program alumni at the Heidt Family Champions Center.
at Denison
October 29 - 1:00 PM
Trumbull Aquatic Center - Granville, Ohio
- The Denison men won the program's 13th NCAC Championship in 2022, followed by a third-place finish at the NCAA DIII Championships.
- Denison's women are coming off a season where the Big Red finished second at the CAC Championships, followed by a third-place finish at the NCAA DIII Championships.
- Xavier's men and women collected 13 first place finishes at last season's dual, but split with the Big Red.
- Xavier's women had eight first place finishes on the way to a 137.5-123.5 win.
- Andrew Martin had a pair of event wins, Christian Thomas and Ben Quon each won a race, and the Xavier men closed out the meet with a win in the 200 free relay, but fell by a score of 158-103.
at CSU Magnus Cup

Busbey Natatorium - Cleveland, Ohio
- Last season's Magnus Cup included Akron, Ohio, Duquesne, Bowling Green, Indiana University of Pa., Gannon, Case Western, California University of Pa., Fairmont State and West Virginia Tech, in addition to CSU and Xavier.
- Xavier's women finished fourth in the field of 11 last season.
- Xavier's men finished second of seven teams, trailing only Cleveland State.
Senior Celebration Meet

Heidt Family Champions Center - Cincinnati, Ohio
- Xavier will host an intrasquad meet and celebrate the 2023 senior class at Heidt Family Champions Center.
at Cincinnati

UC's Keating Aquatic Center - Cincinnati, Ohio
- Cincinnati's women finished fourth at the AAC Championships last season,
- The Bearcats men finished second at the AAC Championships and return AAC Men's Swimmer of the Year Michael Balcerak.
- At last season's meet, the Musketeers combined to win four event championships but were swept by the Bearcats.
- Xavier's women won the 200 medley relay and the 200 free relay, and had a first place finish in the 200 back for Kali Fischer.
- Andrew Martin took the top spot in the 1000 free on the men's side.
at Bellarmine

Mary T. Meagher Natatorium - Louisville, Ky.
- Bellarmine's men finished fifth at the CCSA Championships in 2022, while the women placed ninth. The two teams combined for 10 top-10 finishes, including a second-place finish in the 200 fly.
- At last season's meet, Xavier swept the Knights by winning 24 of 28 events.
- On the women's side, the Musketeers won 13 of 14 events to win by a final score of 192-53.
- On the men's side, Xavier won 11 events with a final score of 179.5-61.5.
at Butler Invite

- This season's meet will include Ball State, Hillsdale, Youngstown State, IUPUI, Eastern Illinois, UIndy and Valpo, in addition to the Musketeers and the Bulldogs.
- Last season, the Musketeers swept the event on both the men's and women's side, combining for 32 top-three finishes.
- Xavier's women won three events to collect 824 points, topping second place by more than 100 points.
- The Musketeer men collected three event wins as well, totaling 780 points to top second-place UIndy's 747 point total.
at Miami (Ohio)

Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center - Cincinnati, Ohio
- Miami's men won a second-straight MAC Championship last season, putting five on the All-MAC First Team and six on the Second Team.
- The Miami women placed third in the MAC Championships last season. The RedHawks returned Nicole Maier, who participated in the 100, 200 and 500 free at the NCAA Championships, and was an All-MAC First Team selection, as well as a pair of second team selections.
- The Musketeers closed out the regular season against Miami last year, with the women' falling by a final score of 178-92, with Kali Fischer collecting a pair of event wins.
- The Xavier men won three events, with Andrew Martin winning the 100 free and the 1000 free and Jon Bernard winning the 200 breast. Xavier's men fell 193-83.
at BIG EAST Championships
February 22-25 – 10:00 AM / 5:45 PM
Nassau County Aquatic Center - East Meadow, N.Y.
- Last season, Xavier took second place of five squads on the men's side and third of seven teams on the women's side at the BIG EAST Swimming and Diving Championships.
- Nine Xavier women earned All-BIG EAST honors for top-three finishes during the meet, led by Kali Fischer who earned All-BIG EAST in five events.
- On the men's side, 10 Musketeers earned All-BIG EAST. Andrew Martin and Christian Thomas had six All-BIG EAST finishes each and Ethan Saunders earned all-conference honors in five events.
- Xavier's men won six event titles during the meet.
