Makel Rasheed Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

The senior defender helped the Musketeers to a 1-0 road win at Creighton last week

NEW YORK - Makel Rasheed was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday afternoon. The senior defender earns the weekly honors for the third time in his career.

The Rockville, Md., native helped Xavier post a 1-0 win over Creighton Sept. 29, the team's third shutout of the season. He helped the Xavier defense limit the Bluejays to a season-low six shots (also had six shots vs Marquette on Sept. 15).

Xavier also held Creighton without a goal during a home regular-season match for the first time since Oct. 19, 2019 (L, 2-0 vs No. 7 St. John's). Rasheed played the entire 90 minutes on the defensive back line vs Bluejays.

The Musketeers return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 3 at Ohio State.
