O'Reilly picked up a career milestone in four-set match against DePaul

CINCINNATI - Carrigan O'Reilly becomes the fifth player in Xavier volleyball history to record 4,000 career assists in the four-set (22-25, 25-22, 25-27, 23-25) with DePaul on Friday evening.

The Musketeers move to 13-7 (6-3 BIG EAST) on the season and the Blue Demons advance to 11-9 (4-5 BIG EAST).

Carrigan O'Reilly joins Xavier volleyball alumni, Aubree Smith (2011-14), in the 4,000-1,000 club. Members of the club must reach career milestones of 4,000 assists and 1,000 digs. The graduate setter currently has 4,036 assists and 1,069 digs.

O'Reilly is currently the only active player with 4,000+ kills, 1,000+ digs, and 500+ kills in NCAA Division I volleyball, joining the list of 32 previous players to reach the marks. O'Reilly is one of four active players that have achieved 4,000 assists and 1,000 digs.

NOTABLES

• Brooklyn Cink, the graduate outside hitter, led the Musketeers' offense with 14 kills and was trailed by redshirt sophomore outside hitter Anna Taylor with 13. Both Sarah Stevens, the redshirt junior middle blocker, and Emma Grace, the redshirt sophomore outside hitter, tallied 10 kills, bringing the team total to 62.

• With her 10 kills and 10 digs, Grace secured her third double-double of the season, the sixth of her career.

• Cink led the Musketeers' defense at the net, laying down two block solos and one block assist. Taylor, Stevens, and senior middle blocker Delaney Hogan recorded two block assists apiece, leading to the team's eight.

• Senior libero Stevie Wolf led the defensive efforts in the back court with her 28 digs, averaging seven digs per set, and her 28 receptions. Lucia Corsaro, the junior defensive specialist, fell in behind Wolf with six digs and 25 perfect receptions.

• Carrigan O'Reilly picked up her 44th career double-double with her 49 assists and 10 digs, raising her career total for assists to 4,036. The graduate setter averaged 12.25 assists per set against the Blue Demons, her highest average in a match thus far in the 2023 season. O'Reilly recorded the match-high hitting percentage of .375 with her seven kills while also contributing one block solo and one block assist.

• The Musketeers totaled 62 kills, 57 assists, 73 digs, eight block assists, and three block solos in the four-set match.
