Musketeers will face hosts Cincinnati as well as Miami (OH) and Ball State

CINCINNATI - Xavier women's tennis heads across town to take part in the UC/Pam Whitehead Invitational, set to run Friday, Oct. 6 through Saturday, Oct. 7 at the Trabert-Talbert Tennis Center with Friday events set to start at noon and Saturday set to begin at 10:00 a.m. Admission to the event is free.

The two-day event is scheduled to be held at the Bearcats' outdoor courts and follow a hidden dual format. Matches may be moved indoors to Western Athletic Club with an adjusted schedule in the case of inclement weather.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE

Following the UC/Pam Whitehead Invite, action for the full team concludes at the ITA Fall Regional, held at Tennessee from Oct. 19 to Oct. 23.
The fall schedule wraps up with the ITA Fall Nationals, beginning on November 2 and running through Nov. 6 at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, California.

FALL RESULTS

Imani Graham and Anna Roggenburk traveled to Cary, N.C., last weekend to represent Xavier at the ITA All-American Championships. Graham competed in the singles draw, and the pair competed in the doubles bracket.
In singles, Graham opened up play on Saturday morning, picking up a 7-6 (4), 6-3 win over Antonia Balzert from the University of Miami in the Round of 128. She advanced to play Sophie Abrams from NC State in the Round of 64 on Sunday morning, falling 6-1, 6-0.
In doubles play, Roggenburk and Graham took an 8-4 win over Miami's Antonia Balzert and Audrey Boch-Collins to advance to the Round of 16. The duo faced Malwina Rowinska and Qavia Lopez from the University of Florida on Saturday evening, falling 8-4.
Six Musketeers combined to win 14 matches at the Hoosier Classic. Xavier competed against players from Purdue, Cincinnati, Miami (Ohio) and Northern Illinois, as well as host Indiana over three days at the IU Tennis Center outdoor courts.
Blessing Nwaozuzu collected five wins over the weekend, going 2-1 in singles play, with wins against Northern Illinois and Miami. She also paired with Abigail Siminski in doubles to go 3-1, with wins over IU, Cincinnati and Miami. Siminski finished the weekend at 4-1, also collecting a single win against Miami.
Ellie Brotherton collected four combined wins over the weekend, picking up a pair of singles wins over players from Indiana and Miami, and combining with Sofia Mazzucato for a pair of doubles wins, against NIU and Miami. Mazzucato also picked up a singles win against Pacheco of Cincinnati.'
Abby Nugent picked up three wins over the weekend, taking a singles win over Teodosescu of Indiana, and then pairing with Emily Flowers for a pair of doubles wins against NIU.

THE MUSKETEERS

Xavier returns six from last year's squad that brought home the program's third-straight, and fourth overall, BIG EAST Championship and earned Xavier's fourth bid to the NCAA Championships.
The 2022-23 Musketeers finished the season 14-8 overall with a 6-0 record against BIG EAST opponents.
Among Xavier's returnees are 2023 BIG EAST Player of the Year, Imani Graham, and BIG EAST Freshman of the Year, Abby Nugent.
Anna Roggenburk, Blessing Nwaozuzu, Emily Flowers and Abigail Siminski also return for the Musketeers.
Xavier added a pair of newcomers, Ellie Brotherton and Sofia Mazzucato.
