No. 40 Duo of Nugent and Owen Set to Take Part in ITA All-American Championships

CINCINNATI - Xavier women's tennis' Abby Nugent and Clara Owen are set to take part in the ITA All-American Championships, with the No. 40 ranked doubles team earning a spot in the doubles main draw.

The pair will open up play on Wednesday, Sept. 24, at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C.

Since 1983, the ITA Women's All-American Championships have featured the nation's top NCAA Division I players and have been a pioneer in women's college tennis. In addition, the event has created milestones that have directly influenced the popularity of women's collegiate tennis over the years.
Pre-qualifying and qualifying rounds began on Saturday, Sept. 20, leading into the main draw that begins on Wednesday, Sept. 24.
Ten singles players will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship (eight main draw quarterfinalists & two feed-in consolation finalists) and four doubles teams will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship through the All-American Championships (four main draw semifinalists).

DRAWS

Abby Nugent and Clara Owen will open up play at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24, taking on No. 1 Reese Brantmeier and Alanis Hamilton of UNC Chapel Hill in the doubles main draw.
