Volleyball Falls in Four Sets to Butler

The Musketeers finish the 2023 series with Butler at 1-1
CINCINNATI - Xavier volleyball fell to Butler 1-3 (25-23, 22-25, 18-25, 21-25) on Wednesday evening.
The Musketeers move to 18-10 (11-6 BIG EAST) on the season and the Bulldogs advance to 13-15 (7-10 BIG EAST).
• Emma Grace notched her ninth career double-double in the four-set match against Butler with 15 kills and 15 digs. The redshirt sophomore outside hitter saw 27 perfect receptions, the match-high. Grace was also the only Musketeer to tally a service ace against the Bulldogs.
• Anna Taylor, the redshirt sophomore outside hitter, recorded 10 kills on a .333 clip, reaching double digits for the 11th time this season.
• Caroline Speelman posted the match-high hitting percentage of .438 on eight kills, one error, and 16 total attemps, the percentage being a career-high for the sophomore outside hitter.
• Carrigan O'Reilly made solid contributions across the board with seven kills, 33 assists, nine digs, and three total blocks. The graduate setter raised her career total for assists to 4,275.
• Speelman, Grace, and O'Reilly each boasted a block solo, giving O'Reilly seven on the season and Grace 10.
• Stevie Wolf, the senior libero, averaged 5.25 digs per set, totaling 21 in the match, for her third consecutive match with 20+ digs and her ninth on the season.
• The Musketeers totaled 59 kills, 57 assists, 62 digs, five total blocks, and one service ace four-set match.
• Xavier close the regular season on Friday at No. 15 Creighton.
