Las Vegas --- The Xavier University Musketeers, 2-1, take on the University of Washington Huskies, 2-1, on Friday in the Continental Tire Main Event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. Xavier is looking to bounce back from its first loss of the season, a setback at No. 2 Purdue on Monday.

The Musketeers will take on either San Diego State or St. Mary's on Sunday.

• Xavier, 2-1, is coming off an 83-71 loss at No. 2 Purdue on Monday.
• Xavier is making its second trip to Las Vegas. XU defeated George Washington and lost to Arizona State in the 2017 Continental Tire Las Vegas Invitational at Orleans Arena.
• Xavier won the 2008 Puerto Rico-Tipoff, the 2007 Chicago Challenge and finished runner-up at the 2006 Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands in holiday tournaments during Sean Miller's first stint as XU head coach.
• Xavier's last victory over a Pac-12 team was its 96-69 victory over Colorado in the 2017-18 season at Cintas Center (12-9-17).
• Xavier sophomore Desmond Claude leads Xavier at 17.3 ppg. after three games. Claude was named to the first BIG EAST Conference Honor Roll of the season after averaging 18.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in the wins over Robert Morris and Jacksonville.
• Xavier head coach Sean Miller, who turns 55 on the day of the Washington game, holds a 149-58 (.720) mark in his seventh season leading Xavier. His 149 wins at XU put him in third place on Xavier's all-time wins list.
• Xavier has 10 newcomers on the 2023-24 roster, including six freshmen and four transfers. Sophomore Desmond Claude is the only returnee that has played in a game this season. Three newcomers scored in double figures at Purdue: senior Gytis Nemeikša (10)
