Musketeers head to Louisville for midweek match-up on Wednesday

EUGENE, Ore. - Xavier baseball fell on a late rally for No. 20 Oregon, with the Ducks scoring two in the eighth for the 3-1 win on Sunday afternoon at PK Park.

After going scoreless through the first four innings, Teddy Deters got aboard with a one-out walk, then came home on a double down the left field line from Carter Hendrickson to give Xavier the 1-0 lead in the fifth.

Oregon got the run back in the seventh on a solo home run, took the lead on a home run in the eighth and added an insurance run to take a 3-1 lead into the ninth.

Xavier travels to Louisville for a midweek match-up, taking on the Cardinals on Wednesday, February 22 at 3:00 p.m.

AT THE PLATE

Carter Hendrickson (1-4) drove in an RBI for the Musketeers on a double in the fifth, his second RBI of the season.
Three other Musketeers, Andrew Walker, Jack Housinger and Grant Stephenson, had hits for the day.
Teddy Deters scored a run on Hendrickson's double after taking one of is two walks for the day. The Musketeers had six walks total.

ON THE MOUND

Nick Boyle made the start, pitching 4.2 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and collecting five Ks.
Luke Bell entered for the final out of the fifth inning, getting the Musketeers out of a bases-loaded jam. Bell went 2.2 innings, allowing three runs on three hits with two strikeouts.
Clay Schwaner entered for the final two outs fo the eighth, allowing one hit and getting a strikeout.
