Men's Swimming Wins 800 Free Relay in School Record Time to Highlight Day One at BIG EAST

Xavier's men are in fourth, women are in seventh after opening night
EAST MEADOW, N.Y. – Xavier swimming opened up the 2023 BIG EAST Championships with a school-record performance in the men's 800 free relay to claim the conference title in the event, followed by another school-record matching time in the 200 medley relay Xavier's men stand in fourth and the women stand in seventh after the first evening of competition.
The Championship continues tomorrow with prelims set to begin at 10 a.m.

MEN'S NOTABLE |
- Kyle Hudson, Nathan Wall, Jon Bernard and Andrew Martin opened up the meet for the men with a school-record time of 6:32.05 in the 800 free relay to claim the BIG EAST title, Xavier's fourth BIG EAST title in the event.
- Gage Hannewyk, Ethan Saunders, Aiden Leamer and Kyle Hudson placed third in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:28.12, which matches the school record
- Xavier stands in fourth palce after three events, including a diving competition in which the Musketeers did not compete.
