Swimming Heads to 2023 BIG EAST Championships

Conference meet runs from Wednesday through Saturday in East Meadow, N.Y.
CINCINNATI - Xavier men's and women's swimming will head to the Nassau County Aquatic Center on Long Island, N.Y., for the 2023 BIG EAST Swimming & Diving Championships presented by Jeep. The meet kicks off Wednesday, February 22 at 5:45 p.m and runs through Saturday, February 25.
Thursday, Friday and Saturday will each feature a morning prelims session, beginning at 10:00 a.m., and an evening finals session. All-session tickets can be purchased for $55 for adults between ages 18-64, and are good for all seven sessions, Wednesday through Saturday. Click here to purchase tickets. All-Session tickets for seniors (65+) and children (under 18), as well as single-session tickets, will go on sale at a later date.
Seating for the championships will be general admission.

 WOMEN'S PREVIEW |
- The Musketeer women return nine All-Conference performers from last season's third-place finishing team at the BIG EAST meet.
- Among the returners is Kali Fischer who earned All-BIG EAST in five events. Alexis Worrall and Clara Keiser also earned all-conference in multiple events.
- Molly Dynda, Erin Merke, Erin Ritz, Emma Swabb and Reese Turner all earned All-BIG EAST last season as well
- Xavier's women added four to the roster for the season, transfer Charlie Ramey who joins Xavier from Vermont, and freshmen Emma Amon, Olivia Oyster and Sydney Smith.
FREESTYLE
- In the 50 free, Olivia Oyster has the top time by a Musketeer this season, setting a time of 23.59 at CSU Magnus cup, the sixth fastest time in the conference this season. Clare Bosse also has a top-10 time in the league.
- Kali Fischer set a time of 51.19 in the 100 free during a relay at CSU Magnus Cup, a time that ranks sixth in the conference. Olivia Oyster's best time of 51.55 is 10th fastest in the conference and Clare Bosse and Alexis Worrall have Top-15 times as well.
- Kali Fischer has the third-fastest time in the league int he 200 free, 1:49.61. Clara Keiser has a top-10 time of 1:51.95 as well.
- Sydney Smith has the fastest time by a Musketeer in the 500 free, 5:02.05, and in the mile, 17:24.74.
- Emma Swabb, Emily Guerrera and Mary Sweetman all have top times that ranks in the top 16 in the BIG EAST this season.
- Kali Fischer has the fourth-fastest time in the league in the 100 back, 55.86, set during a relay. Hannah Pugh (56.27) has posted a top-10 time and Brooke Atkins, Amy Van Son and Reese Turner have top-16 times in the league.
- Fischer and Pugh also lead the Musketeers in the 200 back with the fifth (2:00.23) and sixth (2:00.78) fastest times in the BIG EAST, respectively.
- Clare Bosse (1:04.78)Â and Julianne Libler (1:05.08) have posted top-10 times in the 100 breast this season. Kate Lair also has a top-16 time.
- Emily Guerrera, Emma Amon and Kate Lair have top-20 times in the 200 breast.
- Hannah Pugh (55.59) and Erin Ritz (55.86) have top-eight times in the 200 fly to lead Xavier. Sophia Romero also has a top-16 time.
- Romero leads Xavier in the 200 fly with a season-best time of 2:04.95 which ranks in the top 10 in the lead. Erin Ritz also has a top-16 time.
- Kali Fischer set second fastest time in the league in the 200 IM, 2:02.21. Hannah Pugh also has a top-eight time at 2:04.35, while Clare Bosse and Kate Lair have times that rank in the top 16.
- Emily Guerrera (4:31.64) and Kate Lair (4:32.43) have top 16 times in the 400 IM.
- Xavier's top time in the 200 free relay, 1:33.84, was set by Clare Bosse, Olivia Oyster, Erin Merke and Kali Fischer at CSU Magnus cup, the fourth fastest time in the league.
- Kali Fischer, Alexis Worrall, Olivia Oyster and Clare Bosse set a time of 3:25.97 in the 400 free relay at CSU Magnus Cup, the third fastest time in the conference.Â
- In the 800 free relay, Clara Keiser, Kali Fischer, Clare Bosse and Emma Swabb set a time of 7:31.06 at CSU Magnus Cup, the second fastest time in the BIG EAST this season.
- Kali Fischer, Clare Bosse, Erin Ritz and Olivia Oyster set a time of 1:43.58 in the 200 medley relay at CSU Magnus Cup for the third fastest time in the league.
- In the 400 medley relay, Kali Fischer, Clare Bosse, Erin Ritz and Olivia Oyster set a time of 3:46.62 at CSU Magnus cup, fourth fastest in the league.

- The Musketeer men are coming off a second-place finish at last season's BIG EAST Swimming and Diving Championships. Xavier collected six event championships and had 10 Musketeers earn all-conference last season.
- Nine of the 10 All-BIG EAST honorees return for the 2022-23 season. Andrew Martin earned the honor in six events and Ethan Saunders earned the honor in five events.
- Jon Bernard, Gage Hannewyk, Joey Mullen, Jack Parker, Will Serad, Nathan Wall and Ethan Wing all earned All-BIG EAST last season.
- The Musketeers added three transfers, T'Lez Foulkes from Howard, Seth Kibler from Florida Institute of Technology and Aiden Neuman from Penn State.
- Xavier also added a five person class of newcomers, Matthew Adanin, Ben Dupree, Kyle Hudson, Aiden Leamer and Jon Mason.
FREESTYLE
- Andrew Martin's time of 20.67 in the 50 free is the second fastest in the league this year. Kyle Hudson (20.76), Gage Hannewyk (21.03) and Aiden Leamer (21.10) also have top-10 times in the BIG EAST, and Ethan Wing, Roark Lundal and Ethan Saunders have top-20 times this season.
- Kyle Hudson (45.25 R) Andrew Martin 45.40 and Gage Hannewyk (45.75) have set the fourth-through-sixth fastest times in the BIG EAST this season, respectively. Ethan Wing and Ethan Saunders also have top-16 times.
- Andrew Martin, the two-time BIG EAST Champ in the 200 free, leads the league this year with a time of 1:37.46. Kyle Hudson (1:39.94) has a top four time in the event as well.
- Martin, also the twice-reigning BIG EAST Champion in the 500 free, has the league's top time of 4:25.75. Adam Lamping and Brett Wilson have top-20 times in the conference.
- Martin also leads Xavier in the mile, posting a time of 15:28.54 at CSU Magnus Cup. Adam Lamping, Brett Wilson and Daniel Stroh all have top-16 times in BIG EAST in the the event.
- Xavier has five Musketeers in the top nine in the 100 back times, led by Aiden Neuman's time of 50.06, ranking fourth in the league. Michael Benington set a time of 50.26 during a relay, Gage Hannewyk (50.41), Jon Bernard (50.45) and Matthew Adanin (50.70) also have top-10 times. Davis Klein also has a top-16 time.
- Jon Bernard (1:48.90) and Michael Benington (1:49.12) have the second and third fastest time in the conference in the the 200 back, respectively. Davis Klein, Matthew Adanin and Aiden Neuman each set a top-16 time in the event as well.
- Reigning BIG EAST Champion Ethan Saunders' time of 55.49Â in the 100 breast leads the Musketeers and ranks second in the BIG EAST this season. Jon Bernard (56.24) and Will Serad (56.37) also set top-eight times, while Roark Lundal set a top-16 time.
- Bernard's time of 2:02.36 in the 200 breast ranks third in the league this season, and Nathan Wall sits right behind him with a time of 2:02.43, and Roark Lundal also ranks in the top-eight with a time of 2:05.10. Will Serad also has a top-16 time.
- Aiden Leamer's time of 48.97 leads Xavier and ranks fourth in the league. Gage Hannewyk has a top-eight time at 49.73. Roark Lundal, Caleb Petranchuk and Joey Mullen alo rank in the top 16 in the event.
- In the 200 fly, Leamer ranks third in the league with a time of 1:49.24 and Jack Parker also has a top-eight time of 1:51.39. Brett Wilson and Caleb Petranchuk also have top-16 times in the event.
- Michael Benington has the top time in the league in the 200 IM at 1:49.93. Jon Bernard has the fourth-best time of 1:51.00 and Jack Parker also ranks in the top eight with a time of 1:52.31. Aiden Neuman, Davis Klein and Aiden Leamer also have top-16 times in the event.
- Benington also leads Xavier tin the 400 IM, with his time of 3:56.49 ranking third. Jack Park has the fourth-best time of 3:57.02. Nathan Wall and Jon Mason have top-16 times as well.
- The Musketeers look for a fifth-straight BIG EAST Championship in the 200 free relay, entering the conference meet with the second fastest time in the league, 1:21.64, set by Kyle Hudson, Gage Hannewyk, Aiden Leamer and Andrew Martin.
- Xavier has the top time in the league in the 400 free relay, 2:59.38, set by Kyle Hudson, Andrew Martin, Ethan Wing and Gage Hannewyk.
- Xavier has top time of 6:45.77 in the 800 free relay, set by Andrew Martin, Kyle Hudson, Jon Bernard and Ethan Wing, which ranks third in the league this season.
