Swimming Faces Miami (Ohio) in Final Meet Before BIG EAST

Musketeers take on the RedHawks on Saturday, starting at 1:00 p.m.
CINCINNATI - Xavier men's and women's swimming will travel to Oxford, Ohio, for the final dual of the season, taking on Miami (Ohio) on Saturday, February 4. Events with the RedHawks are set for a 1:00 p.m. start, following a Senior Recognition Ceremony.

- This season, Miami's women have dual wins over Okaland, Cincinnati, Ball State, Kenyon and Toledo, as well as a first-place finish in a tri meet with Indiana State and Missouri State, and a first place finish at the Miami Invitational.
- The RedHawk men have dual wins over Missouri State and Ball State as well as a second-place finish at the Miami Invitiational so far this season.
- Miami's men won a second-straight MAC Championship last season, putting five on the All-MAC First Team and six on the Second Team.
- The Miami women placed third in the MAC Championships last season. The RedHawks returned Nicole Maier, who participated in the 100, 200 and 500 free at the NCAA Championships, and was an All-MAC First Team selection, as well as a pair of second team selections.
- The Musketeers closed out the regular season against Miami last year, with the women' falling by a final score of 178-92, with Kali Fischer collecting a pair of event wins.
- The Xavier men won three events, with Andrew Martin winning the 100 free and the 1000 free and Jon Bernard winning the 200 breast. Xavier's men fell 193-83.

- Xavier's was last in action at the Butler Invite where the Musketeer men collected 1,147 points, trailing only UIndy to finish second of six teams.
- Jon Bernard, Ethan Saunders, Aiden Leamer and Andrew Martin led Xavier in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:26.28.
- Andrew Martin won the mile with a time of 15:42.04.
- Kyle Hudson picked up a second place finish in the 200 free with a time of 1:41.32. He also led Xavier in the 100 free, finishing third with a time of 46.74
- Aiden Neuman led Xavier in the 100 back with a time of 52.17.
- Jon Bernard led Xavier in the breaststroke events, placing second in the 200 breast with a time of 2:04.29, and posting a time of 57.90 in the 100 breast. He also took second in the 200 IM with a time of 1:54.97.
- Aiden Leamer collected a second-place finish in the 200 fly, with a time of 1:51.91.
- Gage Hannewyk posted the top time by a Musketeer in the 50 free at 21.91.
- Michael Benington finished third in the 200 back with a time of 1:55.03. He also picked up a third-place finish in the 200 IM with a time of 1:58.05.
- Nathan Wall picked up a third place finish in the 500 free, finishing in 4:41.08.
- Roark Lundal led Xavier in the 100 fly, posting a time of 50.86.
- Kyle Hudson, Roark Lundal, Ethan Wing and Andrew Martin posted a time of 1:23.96 in the 200 free relay to finish third.

- At the Butler Invite, the Musketeer women collected 1,126 points, tying Ball State for second place of seven teams, trailing only UIndy.
- Kali Fischer, Julianne Libler, Erin Ritz and Olivia Oyster opened the meet with a second-place finish in the 400 medley relay, posting a time of 3:53.84
- Emily Guerrera's time of 18:24.49 led Xavier in the mile.
- Clara Keiser won the 500 free with a time of 5:13.19. She also posted the top time by a Musketeer in the 200 free, finishing in 1:56.61.
- Kali Fischer led Xavier in the backstroke, winning the 100 back with a time of 57.48 and collecting a second-place finish in the 200 back, with a time of 2:03.69. Fischer also led the Musketeers in the 200 IM, placing second with a time of 2:07.25.
- Kate Lair led the Musketeers in the breast events, finishing the 100 breast with a time of 1:07.38 and the 200 breast in 2:28.02.
- Sophia Romero led Xavier in the butterfly events, winning the 100 fly with a time of 57.86 and finishing third in the 200 fly with a time of 2:08.55.
- Molly Dynda led Xavier in the 50 free with a time of 24.82.
- Clare Bosse posted the top time by a Musketeer in the 100 free with a time of 53.33.
- Hannah Pugh finished third in the 200 back with a time of 2:06.53.
- The Musketeer women closed out the meet with Olivia Oyster, Clare Bosse, Reese Turner and Molly Dynda picking up a third-place finish in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:37.26.

- Xavier is next in action at the 2023 BIG EAST Championships, set to run from February 22-25, in East Meadow, N.Y.

- The Musketeer men are coming off a second-place finish at last season's BIG EAST Swimming and Diving Championships. Xavier collected six event championships and had 10 Musketeers earn all-conference last season.
- Nine of the 10 All-BIG EAST honorees return for the 2022-23 season. Andrew Martin earned the honor in six events and Ethan Saunders earned the honor in five events.
- Jon Bernard, Gage Hannewyk, Joey Mullen, Jack Parker, Will Serad, Nathan Wall and Ethan Wing all earned All-BIG EAST last season.
- The Musketeers added three transfers, T'Lez Foulkes from Howard, Seth Kibler from Florida Institute of Technology and Aiden Neuman from Penn State.
- Xavier also added a five person class of newcomers, Matthew Adanin, Ben Dupree, Kyle Hudson, Aiden Leamer and Jonathan Mason.

- The Musketeer women return nine All-Conference performers from last season's third-place finishing team at the BIG EAST meet.
- Among the returners is Kali Fischer who earned All-BIG EAST in five events. Alexis Worrall and Clara Keiser also earned all-conference in multiple events.
- Molly Dynda, Erin Merke, Erin Ritz, Emma Swabb and Reese Turner all earned All-BIG EAST last season as well
- Xavier's women added four to the roster for the season, transfer Charlie Ramey who joins Xavier from Vermont, and freshmen Emma Amon, Olivia Oyster and Sydney Smith.
