Musketeers face Blue Demons on Friday, Shockers on Saturday
CINCINNATI - Xavier women's tennis is set to play a pair of home matches, hosting DePaul on Friday, March 31, set for a 2:00 p.m. start at Eastern Hills. The Musketeers return to the court on Saturday, hosting Wichita State, set for a 5:00 p.m. start at Eastern Hills.
Next weekend, Xavier will host BIG EAST opponent UConn on Friday, April 7, set for a 1:00 p.m. start at Xavier.

- The Blue Demons are 9-6 on the season with a 4-0 record in BIG EAST play.
- DePaul went 9-9 overall last season with a 4-3 record in BIG EAST play.
- The Blue Demons used wins over Butler (4-2) and St. John's (4-2) to advance to the BIG EAST Championship match where DePaul fell to Xavier.

- Wichita State is 9-8, enters the weekend on a two-match win streak, and will face Cincinnati on Friday.
- The Shockers went 8-13 last season and earned the No. 10 seed to the AAC Tournament.
- WSU fell 5-1 to Cincinnati in the first round of the AAC Championship.
- Xavier last faced Wichita State in March 2020, falling 5-2 at Eastern Hills.

- Xavier women's tennis traveled across town, taking a 4-3 win over the Cincinnati Bearcats on Sunday afternoon to move to 8-6 on the season.
- In doubles, Xavier took the win on the No. 2 court, 6-3 for Imani Graham and Anna Roggenburk, but the Bearcats secured the point with a 6-4 win on No. 1 against Kat Lyman and Abby Nugent and a 7-6 win over Emily Flowers and Paulina Franco Martinessi on the No. 3 court.
- Xavier pulled even with the first singles result, with Abigail Siminski taking a 6-1, 6-1 win on No. 4.Â
- The Musketeers moved in front with a 6-2, 6-1 win for Imani Graham on No. 1 and made it a 3-1 lead with a 7-6 (7-2), 6-4 for Abby Nugent on court No. 3.
- Xavier secure the match with a 7-6 (7-2), 6-4 win for Kat Lyman on court No. 4.
- Cincinnati picked up results on No. 5 against Blessing Nwaozuzu. 6-2, 4-6, 7-6 (7-2), and No. 6 against Emily Flowers, 6-1, 4-6, 6-4.

- For the week of Feb. 27, Xavier moved in the ITA team rankings, coming in at No. 71.
- The Musketeers wrapped up the 2022 spring season at 14-10 overall, brought home the program's third overall and second-straight BIG EAST Championship and earned Xavier's third bid to the NCAA Championships.
- Five letterwinners return from last season's BIG EAST Championship squad, including All-BIG EAST selection Imani Graham, Kat Lyman, Anna Roggenburk, Blessing Nwaozuzu and Bella Kirby.
- Xavier also added four-person freshmen class, Emily Flowers, Paulina Franco Martinessi, Abby Nugent and Abigail Siminski.
