Opening up conference play for the first time in history is a momentous occasion on every level. Butler gave us a good challenge today and we didn't come out on top. It is tough to see more than half of our turnovers were unforced. No matter how you spin it, that statistic can undermine a lot of quality plays everywhere else, and today that was the story. End to end, we had big plays. Riley Halloran had herself a game. Jessica Harrison on the draw circle, came up big. A lot of good things everywhere you look, just not enough to wash out the uncaused turnovers, unfortunately. But the beauty of conference is that year to year, the familiarity of our opponent and the challenges that are unique to our conference will become a part of our program's DNA.
This Big East Conference season is an introduction for our players. As we age, these games will become the ones we live for. It's an incredible journey to be on with this team.
