Mancuso Posts Sixth Hat Trick in Loss to Georgetown

Xavier fell 8-25 to Georgetown on Wednesday afternoon
CINCINNATI - Xavier women's lacrosse fell to Georgetown 25-8 on Wednesday afternoon.
The Musketeers fall to 4-6 (0-2 BIG EAST), while the Hoyas advance to 6-7 (1-1 BIG EAST). Â
Lola Mancuso recorded her sixth hat trick of the season, scoring three goals in the first 15 minutes of play.

• Lola Mancuso posted the team-high of four goals in the contest - each unassisted. With the four goals, the freshman attacker earned her sixth hat trick of the season and brought her career total to 33 goals.
• Graduate attacker Riley Halloran was the second leading scorer for the Musketeers, posting two goals and four shots on goal against the Hoyas.
• Two additional Musketeers tallied goals, freshman midfielders Molly Janssen and Erin Berls.
• Freshman goalkeeper Marina Piszczor put up 12 saves against Georgetown in 58 minutes* of goal time.
• Freshman midfielder Kiera Armitage and junior midfielder Sawyer Walker shared the team-high of three draw controls.
• Mancuso and graduate midfielder Jessica Harrison each forced two turnovers on the Hoyas.
• The team-high of three ground balls was shared between Mancuso and freshman midfielder Julia Kogan.
• The Musketeers totaled eight goals, two assists, 13 draw controls, six caused turnovers and 10 ground balls.
*only 58 minutes of game time was played due to weather conditions.

The Musketeers will return to action Saturday, April 8 when they travel to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to face Marquette. First draw set for 3:30 p.m. EST from Valley Fields.

We are fortunate to play in a strong conference as a first year program. Today, we competed well in the first quarter and had a tough return after the rain delay. Credit to Georgetown for taking care of business on the draw circle and getting their shots off on offense. We are looking forward to competing with them over the years.
