Men's Tennis Picks Up BIG EAST Win Against Marquette

CINCINNATI - Xavier men's tennis came back to take a 4-3 win over Marquette on Friday to move to 12-7 on the season with a 2-3 mark against BIG EAST opponents.Â
Xavier will wrap up the regular season on Saturday, facing UIC on Senior Day, with the match set for 1:00 p.m. Following the match with the Flames, Xavier will honor seniors Cambell Nakayama, Shashank Reddy, Aaron Thompson and Jake Zipoli.

In doubles play, the Golden Eagles picked up a 6-1 win over Deacon Thomas and Marco Pennelli on court No. 2, then secured the point with a 6-4 win over Shashank Reddy and Cambell Nakayama on court No. 1.
Xavier picked up a two-set wins on No. 1, with Deacon Thomas taking a 6-4, 7-5 win, and on No. 3, 7-6 (3), 6-0, for Marco Pennelli. Marquette took two set wins on No.4, 7-6 (5), 6-1, against Kyle Totorica and on No. 6, 6-4, 6-3, against Jake Zipoli.
The Musketeesr secured the win with a 6-1, 2-6, 6-3 win for Cambell Nakayama on the No. 2 court, and a 1-6, 6-4, 6-2 win for Shashank Reddy on No. 5.
