Baseball Falls at No. 11 Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. -Â Xavier baseball fell, 13-2, to No. 11 Kentucky on Tuesday evening, moving to 22-15 on the season.
Kentucky took a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning and added two more in the third to take a 6-0 lead into the fourth.
Jack Housinger led off the fourth by getting aboard on an error, trading places with Matthew DePrey after a fielder's choice. DePrey moved to third on a double from Andrew Walker, then came home on a ground ball from Connor Misch to get the Musketeers on the board. Matt McCormick followed with a double to drive in Andrew Walker to cut the lead to 6-2.
Kentucky added runs in the fourth, sixth and seventh inning to take an 11-2 lead into the eighth. With a run-rule in place, two runs in the bottom eighth set the final score at 13-2 in eight innings.
Xavier travels to Villanova, Pa., for its first BIG EAST road trip of the season, taking on the Villanova Wildcats in a three game series, running from Friday, April 21 through Sunday, April 23.
