Musketeers Defeat Georgetown for Back-to-Back Road Wins

Xavier's defensive effort led the win with four players recording double-digit digs.
WASHINGTON - The Xavier volleyball team took down Georgetown 3-1 (22-25, 25-21, 25-23, 25-18) on Saturday night in the nation's capital.Â
Despite hitting a solid .361 in the first set, the Musketeers dropped the opening frame to the Hoyas.
Xavier bounced back with a defensive effort that held Georgetown to a .142 across the final three sets.Â
The win marks XU's ninth straight over Georgetown.Â
The Musketeers improve to 6-10 (4-2 BIG EAST) while the Hoyas fall to 8-10 (1-5 BIG EAST).

The Musketeers continue the road stretch next weekend with visits to Creighton and Marquette. Xavier takes on the Bluejays on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. in Omaha, Nebraska before traveling to Milwaukee for a 2:00 p.m. matchup with the Golden Eagles on Sunday afternoon.
