WASHINGTON - The Xavier volleyball team took down Georgetown 3-1 (22-25, 25-21, 25-23, 25-18) on Saturday night in the nation's capital.

Despite hitting a solid .361 in the first set, the Musketeers dropped the opening frame to the Hoyas.

Xavier bounced back with a defensive effort that held Georgetown to a .142 across the final three sets.

The win marks XU's ninth straight over Georgetown.

The Musketeers improve to 6-10 (4-2 BIG EAST) while the Hoyas fall to 8-10 (1-5 BIG EAST).

Caroline Speelman helped lead the Musketeers for the second-straight night with 16 kills on a .306 clip.
Anna Taylor also tallied 16 kills along with two blocks for her third-straight match in double figures.
Logan Flaugh broke her own career-high for the second night in a row, recording 55 assists and 14 digs for her 12th double-double.
Lucia Corsaro led the defensive effort with 20 digs and added four assists.
Emma Grace added 14 kills and 12 digs in her 19th career double-double.
Kelsey Niesen helped the back line with 18 digs and two aces of her own.
Margo Kemp hit .320 with 12 kills and added three blocks.
Xavier held Georgetown to a .194 clip behind 80 digs, a team-high output in conference play.
The Musketeers' 64 kills are the second-most this season and most against a league opponent.
Behind Flaugh's career night, Xavier combined for a season-high 61 assists.
