Swimming Travels to Denison for Saturday Dual

Musketeers and Big Red get underway at 1 p.m.
CINCINNATI - Xavier men's and women's swimming head to Granville, Ohio, to take on the Denison Big Red on Saturday, Oct. 26, set for a 1:00 p.m. start at the Trumbull Aquatic Center.

MEET NOTES
- Last season, Denison's women placed second at the NCAC Championships before finishing runners-up at the D-III National Championships.
- Denison's men finished second at last season's NCAC Championships, then earned a sixth-place finish at the D-III Nationals.
- The Musketeers combined to win 16 events at last season's dual meet. Xavier's men took the 142-120 win over the Big Red, winning nine events. Xavier's women collected seven event wins, but fell 140-122 to the Big Red.
LAST TIME OUT - WOMEN
- At the two-day Akron Zips Classic, Xavier's women finished third with 710 points, trailing Akron and topping Youngstown State and Denison.
- Reese Turner, Jordyn Libler, Erin Ritz and Olivia Oyster led off the meet with a school-record time of 3:41.99 in the 400 medley relay, placing third.
- Teegan Madara led Xavier in the 500 free, posting a time of 5:03.68.
- Jordyn Libler's time of 2:07.21 led the Musketeers in the 200 IM.
- Olivia Oyster set a new record time for the meet in the 50 free, on the way to taking first place, finishing in 22.69.
- Olivia Oyster, Charlie Ramey, Mary Sweetman and Alexis Worrall led the Musketeers in the 800 free relay, placing fourth.
- The Musketeers women were in third place with 209 points after the first of three sessions.
- To open the morning session on Saturday, the squad of Alexis Worrall, Molly Dynda, Reese Turner and Olivia Oyster led Xavier with a time of 1:35.44 in the 200 free relay.
- Teegan Madara's time of 4:32.27 led the Musketeers in the 400 IM, placing third.Â
- Norah Simich placed second in the 100 fly with a time of 54.89.
- Olivia Oyster placed second in the 200 free, finishing in 1:51.08.
- Jordyn Libler set a new meet record in the 100 breast, taking first with a time of 1:01.49.
- Reese Turner led Xavier in the 100 back, finishing in 56.64.
- Xavier's women were in second following the second of two sessions with 501 points, trailing only Akron
- To open the evening session, Reese Turner, Karlie Dodd, Erin Ritz and Olivia Oyster led Xavier with a time of 1:44.64 in the 200 medley relay.
- Teegan Madara led the Musketeers in the 1,650 free, posting a time of 17:17.91 to place fourth.
- Charlie Ramey led Xavier with a time of 2:05.19 in the 200 back, placing fourth.
- Olivia Oyster won the 100 free with a time of 49.77.
- Jordyn Libler won the 200 breast with a time of 2:14.47.
- Norah Simich took first in the 200 fly with a time of 2:00.56.
- Xavier's women closed out the meet with Olivia Oyster, Maddy Lathrop, Molly Dynda and Alexis Worrall setting a time of 3:28.18 in the 400 free relay.
LAST TIME OUT - MEN
- At the Akron Zips Classic, Xavier's men finished second with 1083.5 points, trailing Youngstown State and topping Denison.
- Xavier's men opened up the meet with a new meet record in the 400 medley relay, with Matt Fralic, Ethan Saunders, Aiden Leamer and Kyle Hudson posting a time of 3:16.91 to place first.
- Luke Peterson place second in the 500 free with a time of 4:36.50.
- Aiden Leamer led three Musketeers in the top three of the 200 IM with a time of 1:51.43. Nate Finnegan placed second and Nathan Wall finished third.
- Max Ward led Xavier in the 50 free with a time of 20.72, placing second.
- Xavier's men wrapped up the first session with a first-place finish in the 800 free relay, with Luke Peterson, Nathan Wall, Ryan Knipp and Kyle Hudson using a time of 6:46.73 to take the top spot.
- The Musketeers were in second place with 317.5 points after the first of three sessions.
- Xavier's men opened the morning session with a second-place finish in the 200 free relay, with Max Ward, Ethan Saunders, Gage Hannewyk and Kyle Hudson finishing in 1:22.83.
- Nathan Wall led Xavier in the 400 IM, placing third with a time of 4:02.13.
- Aiden Leamer won the 100 fly with a time of 48.27.Â

- Matt Fralic won the 100 back with a time of 50.37, while Gage Hannewyk placed third.
- Xavier's men were in second after the second session, trailing Youngstown State with 689.5 points.
- Xavier's men opened the final session with a first place finish and a new meet record in the 200 medley relay, with Gage Hannewyk, Ethan Saunders, Aiden Leamer and Kyle Hudson setting a time of 1:30.06.
- Luke Peterson won the mile with a time of 15:51.11. Ethan Leamer placed second, finishing in 15:56.42.
- Nate Finnegan took third in the 200 back, setting a time of 1:51.68.
- Michael Benington placed third in the 200 back with a time of 1:52.41. Aiden Neuman placed fourth.
- Kyle Hudson finished third in the 100 free with a time of 45.47.
- Nathan Wall set a time of 2:04.89 in the 200 breast to place third.
- Aiden Leamer won the 200 fly with a time of 1:47.59. Caleb Petranchuk placed second, finishing in 1:52.83.
- Xavier closed out the meet with a third-place finish in the 400 free relay, led by a time of 3:03.89 for Ethan Saunders, Colin Jordan, Gage Hannewyk and Kyle Hudson.
XAVIER MEN
- Eight of the 10 Musketeers who earned All-BIG EAST last season return for Xavier.Â
- Ethan Saunders earned the honor in six events to lead the Musketeers.
- Returner Aiden Leamer also earned all-conference in multiple events and set an NCAA B-Cut time in the 200 fly.
- All-BIG EAST honorees Matthew Adanin, Gage Hannewyk, Kyle Hudson, Ryan Knipp, Luke Peterson and Nathan Wall also return for the Musketeers.
- Xavier collected 10 gold medals at last season's BIG EAST Championships including going 5-for-5 on first place finishes in relays, finishing runners-up in the team standings.
XAVIER WOMEN
- Xavier returns six of the nine Musketeers that earned All-BIG EAST last season.Â
- Olivia Oyster led the Musketeers with all-conference performances in five events in 2023-24, including posting an NCAA B-Cut time in the 50 free.
- Jordyn Libler and Erin Ritz each earned All-BIG EAST and each set a pair of NCAA B-Cut times at the event as well.
- All-BIG EAST honorees Norah Simich, Reese Turner, Alexis Worrall also return this season.
- At last year's BIG EAST Championships, the Musketeer women collected a program-best five gold medals and set new program records nine events on the way to a fourth-place finish.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
- Xavier returns home to host Northern Kentucky at the Heidt Family Champions Center, set for Saturday, Nov. 2 at 1:00 p.m.
- Xavier will celebrate Senior Day prior to the meet.
- This is the inaugural season of swimming for NKU.
BIG EAST CHAMPIONSHIPS SCHEDULE UPDATE
- The 2025 BIG EAST Swimming and Diving Championships have been moved up to start on Monday, February 24, 2025Â and run through Thursday, February 27.
- The championship meet will be held at the SPIRE Academy in Geneva, Ohio, just outside of Cleveland, for the first time since 2021.
