Xavier Returns Home to Host UConn and Providence

The Musketeers enter the weekend with a 4-4 BIG EAST record.
CINCINNATI - The Xavier volleyball team returns to Cintas Center after a four-game road stretch to face UConn and Providence.
The Musketeers went 2-2 during their two weeks on the road, picking up wins over Seton Hall and Georgetown to help them remain at sixth in the BIG EAST standings.
Friday's match will serve as the program's annual Dig Pink match in honor of breast cancer awareness month. Fans are encouraged to wear pink along with the team.

about the musketeers
- Xavier ranks third in league play with 15.43 digs per set behind Emma Grace's 3.11 and Lucia Corsaro's 3.57 that is fifth-best among BIG EAST players.
- Margo Kemp's .393 hitting percentage ranks second in the conference, earning her BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honors twice already this season. The redshirt freshman also averages 1.0 blocks per set in conference matches.
- Logan Flaugh ranks second in the conference and 30th in the nation on an average of 10.36 assists per set. She earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after back-to-back matches with 50+ assists along with a career-high 15 digs and career-high four blocks against Seton Hall. The senior setter recorded her 1000th career assist in the match against Creighton last week.
- Emma Grace leads the team with 3.07 kills per set followed up by Anna Taylor with 2.89, Caroline Speelman with 2.44 and Margo Kemp with 2.39.
- Grace rcorded her 20th career double-double with 10 kils and 12 digs against Creighton last Friday.

- UConn enters the weekend 18-2 with a 6-2 BIG EAST record after being picked to finish ninth in the preseason poll.
- Xavier is 2-4 all time against UConn with the Musketeers winning both matchups last season.
- Emma Werkmeister ranks fifth in the nation with 0.70 aces per set and also ranks second in the league with 3.93 kills per set.
- Taylor Pannell was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week after averaging 1.22 blocks per set in the Huskies' undefeated weekend against Villanova and St. John's including nine blocks against the Red Storm. She also contributed 28 kills on a .400 clip.
- The Huskies lead the league with 2.05 aces per set and rank second with a .176 opponent hitting percentage.
