Xavier Sweeps St. John's for Second-Straight BIG EAST Win

The Musketeers have swept their last three home matches.
CINCINNATI - The Xavier volleyball team took down St. John's 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-16) on Friday night for the Musketeers' second sweep of BIG EAST play and third-straight at home.
After a slow start, the Musketeers took advantage of a 4-0 run to gain the lead and never looked back.
The second set was a battle with 18 ties and six lead changes throughout, but Emma Grace took control with eight kills in the set.
Xavier dominated the final set by holding the Red Storm to a .073 hitting percentage and ended the game on a 4-0 scoring run
The Musketeers improve to 4-9 (2-1 BIG EAST) while St. John's drops to 13-4 (2-1 BIG EAST).

- Emma Grace recorded a season-high 18 kills on an impressive .417 clip and added 12 digs for her 17th career double-double.
- Reigning Freshman of the Week Margo Kemp followed up with seven kills and three blocks while hitting .545.
- Logan Flaugh tallied her 10th career double-double with 33 assists and 11 digs to go along with three kills, two blocks and an ace.
- Sarah Stevens had five blocks on the night, two of which were solo blocks.
- Kelsey Niesen recorded nine digs and two aces to lead XU's five-ace night.
- The Musketeers only allowed a season-low one reception error.
- Xavier hit .327 for their second best output of the season and highest in conference play.
- SJU made it to the BIG EAST title match a season ago and was picked to finish third in this year's preseason poll.
