Musketeers face Youngstown State on Sunday

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Xavier men's tennis fell 6-1 against Northern Illinois at Youngstown State on Saturday.

Xavier is set to face Youngstown State on Sunday, Feb. 18 at 11:00 a.m.

The Match

In doubles play, NIU took a 6-3 win on the No. 2 court over Charlie Temming and Cristian Gonzalez. Xavier picked up a 7-5 win on the No. 3 court, with Kyle Totorica and Jorge Santamaria combining for the win. The Huskies clinched the point on the No. 1 court, topping Pascal Mosberger and Ryan Cahill.

NIU took a 6-1, 6-4 win over Charlie Temming on the No. 3 court to move ahead 2-0 and then made it a 3-0 lead with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Ryan Cahil on the No. 1 court.

The Huskies took a 6-4, 6-2 win over Kyle Totorica on the No. 6 court to clinch the match.

On the final three courts, Marco Pennelli took a 6-2, 6-4 win on No. 4 to pick up a point for the Musketeers, while Pascal Mosberger fell, 7-5, 6-3, on the No. 2 court, and Cristian Gonzalez fell, 6-1, 7-6 (2), on the No. 5 court to set the final score at 6-1.
