Trey Green leads Xavier with 16 points

MILWAUKEE, Wis. - Four Musketeers hit double figures, led by 16 for Trey Green, as Xavier fell, 88-64, to Marquette on Sunday evening at Fiserv Forum. Xavier moved to 13-14 overall and 7-9 in BIG EAST play.

Xavier led early, with eight points from Trey Green and four points from Dailyn Swain helping Xavier to a 16-12 lead in the first seven minutes. Over the next eight minutes, Marquette outscored Xavier 17-4 to take a 29-20 lead. Xavier would cut the MU advantage to six before going into the locker room trailing by 10, 36-26.

In the second half, the Musketeers hit the opening bucket to cut the lead back to eight before a 17-2 MU run put the Golden Eagles ahead by 23, 53-30. Marquette would lead by as many as 32, 81-49, before winning by a final score of 88-64.

NOTABLES

Trey Green led Xavier with 16 points after scoring a team-high 10 points in the first half.
Quincy Olivari added 14 points and grabbed five rebounds.
Dailyn Swain scored 11 points, shooting 4-of-5 from the floor. Swain also grabbed six rebounds.
Dayvion McKnight added 10 points, grabbed six rebounds and had six assists.
Abou Ousmane led Xavier with eight rebounds and Kachi Nzeh had six as Xavier finished with a 43-40 advantage on the boards.
