Men's Tennis Travels to Marquette and DePaul to Close Out Regular Season

Musketeers face Golden Eagles on Friday, Blue Demons on Saturday
CINCINNATI - Xavier men's tennis travels to a pair of BIG EAST opponents for the final two matches of the regular season, facing Marquette in Milwaukee on Friday, April 12 at 3:00 p.m. ET and then traveling to DePaul to face the Blue Demons on Saturday, April 13 at 6:15 p.m. ET.
MARQUETTE INFO
- The Golden Eagles are 4-14 on the season with a 0-5 record in conference play.
- Marquette went 6-16 overall last season with a 2-5 record against BIG EAST teams. MU fell to St. John's in the Quarterfinals of the BIG EAST Tournament.
- Xavier enters the season with a two-match win streak over the Golden Eagles after taking a 4-3 win last season in Cincinnati.

- The Blue Demons are 10-9 overall and 3-1 against BIG EAST squads.

- Xavier men's tennis celebrated Senior Day with a 4-3 win over Tennessee State at the Jim and Mary Brockhoff Family Tennis Facility on Sunday afternoon.
- In doubles play, Xavier took the first decision, with Charlie Temming and Jorge Santamaria combining for the 6-4 win on the No. 2 court. TSU took a 6-4 win on the No. 3 court against Cristian Gonzalez and Kyle Totorica. The point was decided on No. 1, where Ryan Cahill and Pascal Mosberger combined for a 7-5 win to put Xavier ahead 1-0.
- TSU tied the match at 1-1 with the first singles decision, taking a 6-1, 6-2 win on the No. 6 court against Jorge Santamaria. Marco Pennelli won 6-4, 6-2 on the No. 3 court to put the Musketeers back in front 2-1.
- A win for the Tigers on the No. 1 court against Ryan Cahill, 6-3, 6-4, tied the match at 2-2 and TSU moved in front with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 win over Pascal Mosberger on the No. 2 court.
- Charlie Temming won on No. 4, 1-6, 6-3, 6-4, to tie the match at 3-3, and Cristian Gonzalez posted a 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 win on the No. 5 court to clinch the match for the Musketeers, his team-high 10th singles win for his freshman season.
THE MUSKETEERS
- Xavier returns six letterwinners from last year's squad that finished the season at 12-9 overall.
- The 2022-23 season marked a second-straight season with 12 wins, the first time the program had back-to-back 10-plus win season since the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons.
- The Musketeer returners include Ryan Cahill, Pascal Mosberger, Marco Pennelli, Jorge Santamaria, Charlie Temming and Kyle Totorica.
- Xavier also added a pair of freshmen, Alex Adamec and Cristian Gonzalez.
