ST. LOUIS - The Xavier volleyball team travels to St. Louis this weekend to compete in the Billiken Invitational Sept. 6-7. The Musketeers are looking to bounce back after an 0-3 opening weekend at the Bobcat Invitational.

Xavier will face Illinois State (1-3), Saint Louis (1-2) and Army (2-1) at Chaifetz Pavillion. The Musketeers's match vs. Saint Louis will be broadcasted on ESPN+ and live stats will be available for all matches.

about the musketeers

Sarah Stevens leads the team in hitting percentage (.414) after tallying 13 kills with only one error last weekend.
Margo Kemp made her collegiate debut with 24 kills and nine blocks to score 31 points at the Bobcat Invitational.
Emma Grace leads the team with 25 kills for an average of 2.27 kills/set.
Charlotte Moriarty also made a big impact in her first appearance last weekend, racking up 17 kills and 26 digs in nine sets along with 41 receptions without an error.
Logan Flaugh ranks fifth in the BIG EAST with 8.91 assists/set.
Xavier's 59 kills against App State is the second-most by any BIG EAST team this season.
The Musketeers have only allowed 1.36 blocks/set by opponents, the third-best in the conference.
Both Kemp (.340) and Stevens (.324) rank in the top 10 of all active BIG EAST players in hitting percentage.

Illinois State went 1-2 at the Linda Herman Volleyball Classic last weekend with their lone win over Bellarmine.
The Redbirds dropped a 3-1 contest to Illinois on Tuesday night to drop to 1-3.
ISU finished sixth in the MVC last season and were picked to finish fourth ahead of the 2024 season.
The Musketeers and Redbirds have only played each other once, with Xavier winning that matchup in 2014, 3-1.

scouting the Billikens

Saint Louis opened their season at the A-State Invitational in Jonesboro, Arkansas where they picked up a 3-1 win over Southeast Missouri State but finished the weekend with a 1-2 record.
SLU was picked to finish fifth in the Atlantic 10 this season after advancing to the semifinals of the conference tournament last year.
The Billikens hold a 19-16 record over the Musketeers after the two were longtime conference opponents in the A-10.
The two have not faced off since Xavier left the A-10 in 2012, with Xavier winning the last three matchups.

Army enters the invitational with a 2-1 record after picking up wins over Hampton and Oakland at the Buffalo Invite last weekend.
The Black Knights were picked to finish fourth in the Patriot League Preseason Poll.
Xavier and Army have only faced off once back in 2010 where the Musketeers took the win, 3-1.
