Zach Freemantle Posts Double-Double in 77-63 Win at DePaul

Freemantle leads all scorers with 20, Conwell adds 19 and Hunter finishes with 10 points
CHICAGO - Zach Freemantle posted a double-double, scoring 20 points and grabbing 10 rebounds, leading three Musketeers in double figures as Xavier took a 77-63 win over DePaul on Saturday afternoon at Wintrust Arena.
The Musketeers improved to 10-7 overall and 2-4 in BIG EAST play while the Blue Demons moved to 9-8 on the season and 0-6 in conference play.
Xavier returns home to host Villanova on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at Cintas Center. The Musketeers and the Wildcats get underway at 6:30 p.m. on FS1.

NOTABLE
- DePaul hit the opening bucket and led by as many as four in the first 10 minutes of the game, but Xavier outscored the Blue Demons 21-3 over the final seven minutes of the first half to take a 15-point lead, 38-23, into the break. Zach Freemantle led Xavier with nine points in the first half.
- Xavier scored the first seven on the second half to extend the run to 28-3, stretching over 11 minutes of game time, to lead by 22, 45-23. A 12-1 DePaul run cut the Xavier lead back to 11, 51-40, with 12 minutes to play. Xavier responded with a 10-0 run, pushing its advantage back out to 22 with under five minutes to play before winning by 13, 77-63.
- Zach Freemantle led all scorers with 20 points, going 2-of-2 from outside, and grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds for his fourth doub-double of the season.
- Ryan Conwell led Xavier with 13 second-half points, finishing with 19 points.
- Jerome Hunter added 10 points for the Musketeers and grabbed six rebounds, including three offensive boards leading to six second-chance baskets.
- The Musketeers shot 48.1 percent overall from the floor (26-of-54) and 45 percent from three (9-of-20), while the Blue Demons shot 39.6 percent (21-of-53) overall, and 32.3 from three (10-31).
- Xavier had a 36-28 advantage on the boards.
- The Musketeers outscored the Blue Demons 13-3 on fast-break points.
