Men's Basketball Prepares For Its First Road Trip Of The Season

This is Xavier's first trip to Iowa City.
CINCINNATI --- The Xavier University Musketeers, 2-1 overall and 0-0 in the BIG EAST Conference, hit the road for a Friday night clash at 8 p.m. ET (7 p.m. CT) against the University of Iowa Hawkeyes, 2-0 overall and 0-0 in the Big Ten. This is Xavier's first road game of the season.
Xavier is looking to bounce back from a Monday loss to Santa Clara.Â

• Xavier, 2-1, suffered its first loss of the season to Santa Clara on Nov. 10 despite a collegiate career-high 29 points from senior Roddie Anderson III, who scored 25 of his points in the second half.
• Xavier graduate student Tre Carroll, who is second on the team in scoring at 14.3 ppg., is the only Musketeer who has scored in double figures in all three games.
Carroll scored a season-high 21 points vs. Santa Clara on Monday.
• Xavier is playing its first road game of the 2025-26 season. Xavier has never played at Iowa.
• Xavier has won 12 of its last 19 games against nine different teams from the Big Ten Conference since the 2007-08 season, including 1-1 vs. Iowa.
• Xavier returns no scholarship letterwinners for the first time in school history.
• Xavier's Richard Pitino, who is looking for his 250th career win as a head coach, is off to a 2-1 start as the Musketeer head coach. Pitino, who was the head coach at New Mexico for the past four seasons, is in his 14th season as a collegiate head coach.
• Xavier played its first men's basketball game at Cintas Center on Nov. 18, 2000, a 68-54 win by late head coach Skip Prosser's squad vs. Miami (Ohio). XU celebrates the 25-year anniversary of that game in its next home game on Tuesday, Nov. 18 vs. Old Dominion.
