CHARLESTON, S.C. - Xavier erased a 14-point second-half deficit to take a lead in the final minutes but fell, 78-77, to Georgia in the first game of the Shriners Children's Charleston Classic at TD Arena on Friday evening. Four Musketeers hit double figures, led by 19 each for Tre Carroll and Jovan Milicevic. Carroll and Filip Borovicanin both posted double-doubles.
The Musketeers return to action in the Shriners Children's Charleston Classic's Palmetto bracket third-place game, taking on West Virginia on Sunday, Nov. 23, set for a 3:30 p.m. start on ESPN.

NOTABLES
- Georgia jumped out to an early 7-2 lead, but the Musketeers went on a 14-3 run to lead by as many as six, 16-10, in the first five minutes. After trading runs for most of the first half, Georgia closed out the first half on a 13-2 run to take a 53-41 lead into the half. Jovan Milicevic led Xavier with 11 points in the first half after connecting on three three-pointers.
- The Bulldogs led by as many as 14 in the second half before Xavier used a 10-0 run to make it a two-possession game, 62-58, with 13 minutes to play. After UGA pushed the lead back to nine, Xavier chipped away at the lead, using a 7-0 run in the final three minutes to take its first lead of the second half, 77-75, after All Wright connected on a three with 1:38 to play. UGA retook the lead on a three with 11 seconds to play, setting the final score at 78-77.
- Tre Carroll posted his first double-double as a Musketeer, finishing with 19 points and 10 rebounds, including grabbing four offensive boards.
- Jovan Milicevic finished with 19 points, connecting on a season-high five three pointers.
- All Wright had 19 points, connecting on four threes.
- Filip Borovicanin posted his first double-double as a Musketeer, matching his season highs with 12 points and 12 rebounds. He also led the Musketeers with four assists.
- Georgia held a 43-42 advantage on the boards overall, but the Musketeers finished with 15-10 advantage on the offensive glass, turning that into 15 second-chance points.
- Xavier forced 11 turnovers, including grabbing nine steals.
- After the Bulldogs shots 57.6 percent in the first half, the Musketeers held Georgia to 32.3 percent from the floor in the second half, and just 2-of-16 from three after halftime.
