CINCINNATI --- The Xavier University Musketeers, 9-4 overall and 1-1 in the BIG EAST Conference, host the No. 4 University of Connecticut Huskies, 12-1 overall and 2-0 in the BIG EAST Conference, on New Year's Eve at 5 p.m. at Cintas Center. Xavier has won six of its last seven games, while UConn has won eight-straight games.

Connecticut leads the series with Xavier 7-5, although XU is 3-2 vs. UConn at Cintas Center. XU won last season's meeting over then-No. 19 UConn at Cintas Center, 76-72, on Jan. 25, 2025.

• Xavier, 9-4 overall and 1-1 in the BIG EAST Conference, evened its league record with an 80-77 win at Georgetown on Dec. 20. XU, which has won six of its last seven games, has been off for the holidays since that Georgetown game.
• Xavier leads the BIG EAST and is seventh in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.94. XU is ninth in the nation in turnover percentage at 13.4 percent.
• Xavier leads the BIG EAST in assists and is 26th in the nation at 18.6 apg. XU's assist percentage (68.8 percent) is fourth in the nation.
• Xavier ranks third in the BIG EAST in 3-point field goals per game at 9.9; XU has hit 10+ 3-point field goals in seven games.
• Xavier graduate student Tre Carroll, who leads XU in scoring at 16.5 ppg. (fifth in the BIG EAST), was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on Dec. 22 after his 22-point, eight-rebound effort in XU's 80-77 win at Georgetown. His career-high 30 points in the win over Cincinnati on Dec. 5 helped him win USBWA National and BIG EAST Player of the Week on Dec. 8.
• Xavier senior Filip Borovićanin had 11 points and 13 rebounds in the Georgetown win, his fourth double-double of the season. Borovićanin leads Xavier and is third in the BIG EAST in rebounding (7.5 rpg.) and fifth in assists (4.2 apg.).
• Xavier's Filip Borovićanin has averaged 9.8 ppg., 8.9 rpg. and 4.5 apg. over the last eight games.
• Xavier senior Malik Messina-Moore is second in the BIG EAST Conference and 49th in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio at 3.13.
